The Badoon are a primitive race living in a world beyond the Nine Realms that were observed by Heimdall.
History[]
When the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed, the Badoon seized to opportunity to wage a civil war between several of their clans. As the Asgardians could not interfere due to the absence of an efficient means to travel between worlds, the savagery and bloodlust of the Badoon soon spread to other planets.[1]

- In the comics, the Badoon are a reptilian species who conquered Earth in the 31st century, leading to the creation of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, and also one of the five species to be genetically altered by the Kree.
Behind the Scenes[]
- While Marvel Studios held the comic book rights to the Badoon, hence their appearance in Thor: The Dark World Prelude, the cinematic rights to the Badoon were owned by 20th Century Fox until March 2019, following the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Walt Disney Studios. Director James Gunn, who wanted to introduced them in Guardians of the Galaxy, was forced to replaced them with the Sakaarans instead.[2]
