Djinn are man-eating creatures from a world that not even Wakandan technology could access; however a portal to the Land of the Djinne existed within the stomach of the Goddess Bast.[9]
History
Origins[]
It was stated that the Djinn were one of the many species spawned by Lilith, Mother of Demons,[10] while Iblis presented herself as the Mother of Djinns and Demons.[3]
Hyborian Age[]
They were commonplace on Earth during the Hyborian Age,[11] with one merchant advertising a captured symbiote as a Djinn to attract customers, and which was purchased by the Sorcerer Supreme Mekri Ra.[7]
The Man-Bats of Ur-Xanarrh invoked the Emerald Jinns of Ur-Xanarrh, circa 10,000 BC.[12]
Ancient history[]
Eons before the current day, a King of Wakanda contracted a debt with the youngest of the Djinn, Saï-Saï.[9]
A race of Jinn lived around the Mogul of the Mystic Mountain's Kingdom of Zanadu, but their weakness to cold temperature led to their near extinction.[6]
When the thief Aladdin accidentally activated one of the time-displacing Frogs in King Solomon's Tomb, a creature thought to be a genie emerged through time and began to destroy the surrounding city.[13] A contemporary of Aladdin's, Ali Babba, once possessed a magic lamp with another djinn kept inside; the Collector traded this for a broken down robot, and had the djinni inside assist him in collecting further specimens such as Marrina and the Klyntar-bonded Spider-Man.[14]
During one of the Crusades, the human Adam of Ravenscroft met and fell in love with the Djinni Elalyth, and together the two bore the half-human half-Djinn Clan Destine, who persisted to the modern day.
Modern Age[]
The Djinn were among the magical beings who fled the Earth in fear of the rise of the Uprising Storm, however Tiresias was not sure exactly where they had fled to.[2]
On the seventh day of the seven month of T'Challa's rule of Wakanda, the young Djinni Saï-Saï placed a cursed thorn in the paw of the Goddess Bast, forcing T'Challa to enter the Land of the Djinne to run an errand for the Djinni and repay the Black Panther's ancient debt.[9]Powers and Abilities
