World 7- is the tower level of World 7 in New Super Mario Bros. It is unlocked by two methods; by completing World 7-3 or by finding the red-flag exit in World 7-Ghost House.
Layout[]
This tower has a plethora of moving platforms, some of which have spikes on them, forcing Mario or Luigi to take caution when progressing upwards to the top of the tower. This is the only level found in New Super Mario Bros. were there are no enemies found besides the boss, though the level itself is difficult enough with the many dangers of being hit by spikes or being crushed by moving platforms.
Boss battle[]
Mario or Luigi will fight Bowser Jr. as par usual. Much like the previous fight, Bowser Jr. ducks in his shell to avoid being jumped on and attacks by throwing Koopa Shells. The arena itself takes place on blocks of platforms moving side-to-side slowly, which affects Mario or Luigi's momentum when jumping. As usual, Bowser Jr. will require three hits or nine fireballs to be defeated, and in doing so successfully, grants access to the next level, World 7-4.
Enemies[]
- Bowser Jr. (boss)
Star Coins[]
- Star Coin 1: In the beginning of the first area; the player must jump down to get to it while avoiding the moving walls that will crush them.
- Star Coin 2: A bit past the midway point; the player must travel on top the spiked platforms that move downwards, then jump into a small corner containing the coin.
- Star Coin 3: In the very last area; the player must avoid being crushed by the multiple moving platforms and make their way to the top-left corner of the area.
Trivia[]
- Not counting Bowser Jr. and obstacles such as the stone blocks and Spikes, this is one of the only levels in the game to contain no enemies.
