Not to be confused with Mega Cheep Cheep.

The Giant Cheep-Cheep is a large-sized Cheep Cheep featured in the Mario Kart series, namely the earlier installments, and makes its first appearance in Super Mario Kart. He resembles a regular Cheep Cheep but is larger and balloon-like. The Giant Cheep Cheep is commonly seen hosting the award ceremonies, presenting the players with their trophies, but is sometimes seen around the games' tracks as well. Unlike most other Cheep Cheeps, the Giant Cheep-Cheep also seems to possess the ability to fly.

In Super Mario Kart, Giant Cheep-Cheep is seen at the award ceremony, presenting the winning players their trophies. He flies by, and drops the award down to the winning players. He then flies away, other than that, the Giant Cheep-Cheep's role in this game isn't as large.

Mario Kart 64[]

The Giant Cheep Cheep takes a leap.

The Giant Cheep-Cheep returns in Mario Kart 64 once again as the trophy presenter at the award ceremonies. In this game, he now presents the trophy to the victors by spitting them out of his mouth. The Giant Cheep-Cheep also makes a cameo in Banshee Boardwalk where it can be seen hopping over the long bridge before the entrance to the house as players cross. In the course's remake in Mario Kart DS, the Giant Cheep-Cheep is replaced by a Boss Bass.

Trivia[]

  • Although Mega Cheep Cheeps are the more common large variation of Cheep Cheeps, the Giant Cheep-Cheep was the first oversized Cheep Cheep introduced in the series.
  • The Giant Cheep Cheep is absent in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, where it is replaced with a Big Blurp, while in later games, the trophy just gets presented regularly.
