Does anyone know what I should write in the Autofix template on this page? I looked at an example and kind of wrote it that way, but when I paste at suede brush (Q98297065) a full URL like https://www.nomenclature.info/parcourir-browse.app?id=2703&lang=en&wo=I&ws=INT it doesn't get replaced with just the ID.

Help needed to import the rest of Nomenclature

Nomenclature for Museum Cataloging (P7749) includes 15k types of everyday objects: things you can find in museums or architecture. It's been fully incorporated in Art & Architecture Thesaurus ID (P1014), so whatever we do for Nomenclature will automatically link to this important thesaurus.
Many of these items are needed because other WD items refer to them, but the item is missing, eg:
- sliding window protocol (Q592860) is named after sliding window (Q80681012), but that didn't exist until I imported it from Nomenclature
- These 3 NGA paintings Ceiling Ornament (Q64540683), Ceiling Ornament, Sandstone (Q64556659), Zoar Ceiling Ornament (Q64570898) couldn't have "depicts" until I added ceiling ornament (Q80779007) from Nomenclature
- WD has ashlar (Q1122603) (ashlar stone block, https://www.nomenclature.info/nom/83). But WD doesn't have "ashlar brick" (https://www.nomenclature.info/nom/52)
- WD has HVAC (Q1798773), but not its parts: HVAC Coil, HVAC Compressor, HVAC Condenser, HVAC Evaporator, HVAC Filter
Nomenclature has 15k entries, imported to https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/catalog/3270:
- 3.6k were matched automatically by us, using other coreferencing links
- 2.1k were matched manually, mostly through the effort of 5 editors
- 9197 are not yet matched (the MnM automatic matcher found no candidates)
Nomenclature has a well-developed hierarchy, eg see https://www.nomenclature.info/parcourir-browse.app?id=49&lang=en&ws=INT (9 kinds of brick).
- The hierarchy is reflected in the item descriptions, eg Ashlar Brick "(Category 01: Built Environment Objects> Building Components> Construction Materials> Brick)"
- When Nomenclature includes a better description, that is included in descr as well
Most of these 9.2k items should be created as new items in WD.
- I could do it with one click in Mix-n-Match, but I'm hesitant to import pretty bare items
- So I think we need a bot to do it in a more intelligent fashion
- The NOM hierarchy should be leveraged both for disambiguation, and also for adding appropriate "subclass of" statements.
- The item label should be parsed to add appropriate "of" or "use" qualifiers.
- Eg après-ski boot (Q3714094) "subclass of" boot (Q190868), "used for" après-ski (Q622155)
- Eg pet door (Q943110) "subclass of" portal (Q854429), "used by" pet (Q39201)
Looking for help from some bot writers! Wikidata:Bot_requests#request to import the rest of Nomenclature for Museum Cataloging (P7749) (2021-11-18) --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 15:28, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Vladimir Alexiev: Thanks for creating this request. I'll add my comments in the bot request discussion. NOte - I didn't get a notification, so your ping project requests might not have processed. - PKM (talk) 20:31, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
