Sanana

edit

Hello, I see that you have undone my edits for Q1357603 and Q10004470. Q10004470 is the main topic category for the Sanana district in Sulabesi (Sanana) island while Q1357603 is the item for the district. I have removed the Commons category from both item because if you look at the category in Commons, there are several images mainly from the Troppenmuseum concerning the island (which contains some more districts), not only the one district. Considering this, and the fact that the category itself on Commons is already categorized with "Islands of Maluku" (prior to my and your edits) and since I don't have the privilege to use AWB on Commons to recategorize the multiple files from Troppenmuseum, it would be logically less-effortless to just remove the category from the both items and connect it to Q48767551 (the island). Thank you. RXerself (talk) 03:54, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Bovlb. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Q87712789 because it didn't appear constructive. Feel free to use the sandbox for test edits. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!  Bovlb (talk) 23:34, 4 April 2022 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 23:34, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks!  Bovlb (talk) 00:03, 5 April 2022 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 00:03, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've spent a fair bit of time trying to sort out many of the mistakes you have made over the last few months. I invite you to check my work and fix up anything I have missed. Just to emphasize: You must never take a concept about one concept and change it to be about another. Duplicate items can be merged. Non-notable items can be deleted. We never repurpose.
