- The spies of Melkor discover the Quendi and afflict them with many horrors. Out of fear, they remain at Cuiviénen and not go far beyond it.[1][2]
- About this time, Melkor possibly starts to breed the first Orcs from those Elves corrupted by him under torture and dark sorcery.[1][2]
