Old bridges

The bridge was built in 1787 and still standing. Some modern builders should look at this and take a lesson from it. Beautiful and functional as well.

Going back in time is sadly not possible; however, that doesn’t stop researchers from uncovering the secrets of the past. Each day they discover something new that shows what life was like hundreds of years ago. Unsurprisingly, there are large communities of scientists that carry out complex research to put the puzzle pieces together.

The Ramble Stone Arch is one of the most distinctive architectural features in the Ramble, the most well-known of the Park’s woodland landscapes.

This attractive old Grade II-listed bridge, dating from the late 1700s, once carried the main road over the river, but it now simply leads to the Two Bridges Hotel, a lovely old former coaching inn dating from 1794, when it was known as the Saracen's Head.
