It is not a weaving loom, because there's no shedding mechanism. It's to used to re arrange the position of the tie-dyed patterns.

It combines several kasuri warping tools, that can also  purchased separately, in their usual sizes. Like the drums.

So, with this tool, a simple striped pattern can be raised and lowered to create new patterns.  There are so many possibilities. 

This pattern is called yagasuri. 矢絣 It is a symbol of determination, showing the feathered ends of arrows flying in straight direction. 

It features 2 bamboo reeds with very high dentage which is perfect for silk yarns.

Despite its size, it is a functional kasuri warping loom.

Vincent on Instagram: "This is paper thread (kami ito) made from twisted Japanese handmade paper (kigami).

The paper thread: 15 years ago my teacher in bobbin lacemaking, a Japanese lady, gave me this roll of paper thread. We once tried using it in the thicker outlines of the laces instead of linen thread. 😅 

It looks like a stiff fibre thread at first glance, but then there are stubs, which are one characteristic of a #handspun #paperthread . Those are the top and bottom edges of the sheet of paper. 

The joint stubs are a major compromise aesthetically but they make it possible to have very long continuous thread.
