Giacinta 'Jinx' Johnson is a fictional NSA operative who teams up with James Bond to spy on rogue North Korean agent Zao and investigate his ties with diamond magnate Gustav Graves. Based on Halle Berry's character from the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day, the re-imagined Jinx appeared in Activision's 2012 first-person shooter video-game 007 Legends and used the likeness of Gabriela Montaraz (voiced by Madalena Alberto) rather than Halle Berry, who did not reprise her role.[2]

Agent Giacinta 'Jinx' Johnson is an agent within the secretive American National Security Agency (NSA). After gaining a degree from one of America's most prestigious computing-focused universities, she turned her back on a promising career in Silicon Valley and joined the US Military at the age of twenty-three.[1] She has enjoyed a fast-track career that includes a three-year posting in one of the US Air force before transferring to the NSA four-years prior to the game's events.[1] Agent Johnson is now a deep cover field agent specializing in communications. She has a number of sources in underground technology and hacking groups who specialize in developing covert methods of communication that fall outside the range of official surveillance systems such as the Echelon and Onyx intelligence gathering networks. Most recently she used these contacts to apprehend the rogue Malaysian hacker, Ji Sang.[1]
The character is described as a strong-willed, confident alpha female who is not afraid to use her sexuality to her advantage. As part of standard operating protocols, Jinx undergoes regular psychological profiling. The results of which are always within the NSA's guidelines, however she has a tendency to exhibit moments of recklessness when under extreme pressure.[1] Outside of life in the agency, Agent Johnson is an accomplished free driver and participates in numerous extreme sports.[1]

Jinx is a pet form of Giacinta, as well as a reference to her having been born on a Friday 13th, which is considered an unlucky day in some traditions.
