CROWDED TABLE FARMS ✨ on Instagram: "No one likes worms and worm holes in their apples but for those of us that grow apple trees, you know you have to spray with chemicals at least three times this summer if you want no worms. You can use the garlic spray organic, but it completely goes away with rain and time. What we use is about 5 to 6 inches wide of corrugated cardboard and a zip tie. We place the cardboard around the base of the tree about 3 to 4 inches above the dirt line and zip tie it into place. What happens is the apple maggots that live in the soil around the base of the tree climb the tree and lay their eggs in the corrugated cardboard and dont continue up the tree. So there’s no leaf curling or webbing or worms in the apples. This cardboard needs to be replaced about the secon Crowded Table, Pruning Fruit Trees, Tree Pruning, Apple Trees, Fruit Tree, Corrugated Cardboard, Apple Tree, The Soil, Fruit Trees
