Math pennants

Everyone loves free! In this post I highlight my free math pennants that you can use as warm ups, exit tickets, a review day, a fun day, homework, bell ringers, anything! I have heard so many stories of disengaged students really getting into their math pennants, and to me this is everything. Students find missing side lengths of right triangles and the areas and perimeters of the triangles in this activity that doubles as classroom décor. Students practice using the Pythagorean Theorem while also using their logic to figure out area and perimeter. Students love seeing their work displayed. Even my older students loved displaying their math worksheets on our classroom math bulletin board. Math pennants are a fun way to display student-created work while giving them a fun activity to color (while practicing their math-- shhhh!). Students won't feel like they are working and in the end you'll have the perfect math classroom display that students are proud of.
