Ellen Daly on Instagram: "Here’s why👇 There are a few different paste options that are actually designed to cope with sanding! Joint compound, wall filler or modelling paste all sand really well! Use a fine grit sand paper (I’m using 220 grit) and I love a sanding sponge/block! I have entire module about different texture pastes in my textured art course…including different ways to modify them, pros and cons and suggested art styles to suit each one! Comment YES and I’ll send you the link to the video course! 💁🏻‍♀️ * I do recommend doing this outside or in an area that is easy to clean up! Wear a mask if possible to protect yourself from the dust! #textured #texturedart #texturedarttio #art #artreel #arttips #artoftheday #artasmr #visualasmr #artprocess #minimalisticart #neutra Compound Texture Art, Compound Wall, Sand Paper, Modeling Paste, Texture Paste, Wear A Mask, Video Course, Textured Art, Art Courses

Danielle Bergman on Instagram: "Do you want to know the secret to creating amazing textures in your art? I’ve experimented with different combinations and this is the one that works best for me. You’ll need: - Joint compound - Light or flexible modelling paste - Acrylic paint The proportions depend on your preference, but I usually start with a lot of joint compound and add small amounts of the others. Then I mix them well until I get a smooth consistency. I only make enough for each artwork because it tends to dry out quickly. #art #artist #artwork #artoftheday #instaart #artgallery #artsy #artlovers #artistic #texture #textureart #jointcompound #modellingpaste #acrylicpaint #mixedmedia #mixedmediaart #abstractart #abstractpainting #creative #creativelifehappylife" Artistic Texture, Modeling Paste, Diy Artwork, Creative Life, Artist Artwork, Texture Art, Texture Painting, Insta Art, Mixed Media Art

➡️ Mix your paste of choice! Joint compound, filler/wall putty or topping compound are all great places to start! Adding some acrylic mediums such as paint or modelling paste is optional!
➡️ Mix, mix and mix again! The more you mix, the creamier your paste will go!
➡️ Choose your surface. A canvas or even some primer timber art board is great!
➡️ Spread out those air bubbles…such an important step!
➡️Spread your paste around evenly…you only need a thin layer! Add a background design if you want to!
➡️ To make an arch, use a notched tool. I used a 8mm square notched trowel for this arch! I also love the 4mm square notched and v notched tools!
➡️ It can take 24 hours to dry properly!
➡️ Sand out any bumps before painting
➡️ Use acrylic Wall Filler Art, Wall Putty Texture Design On Canvas, Putty Canvas Art, Putty Art, Timber Art, Paris Crafts, Modeling Paste, Texture Paint, Pallet Painting

.
Did you know that you can use different mediums for different art forms. For arches beaches and flatter textured work I generally use a joint compound texture paste mix.
.
For florals and palette knife work as in this reel I use a modelling paste or an impasto.
.

With flowers, I always use Taomi forbidden frosting mixed with a heavy bodied paint. As it’s light fluffy, flexible and doesn’t crack.
.
Here I used @montmarteart modelling paste with a heavy bodied paint from @derivanmatisse. I wanted a creamy texture that is flexible.
.
What are your go to products?
