Houghton: Daguerreotype Tropical Sliding Box - c1845. 4¾x4¾'' exposures, daguerreotype camera. One of the earliest Houghton cameras licensed by Daguerre.

It was a wooden box with the bellows and lens from a folding camera mounted at one end with a complete darkroom inside. Using photographic printing paper the photographer would expose a sheet of paper for the negative, develop, stop, and fix it inside the camera, then put a copy stand on the camera and photograph the negative (to obtain a positive), develop, stop, and fix, then wash the final print in a coffee can of water attached to his homemade tripod.

The Brownie Bull's-Eye was a Bakelite Box camera made by Kodak between 1954 & 1960, designed by Arthur H Crapsey (who also designed the highly successful Kodak Brownie Star series). The body featured an eye-level viewfinder and a large shutter-release button on the front vertical edge, in front of the winding knob. It was available in black (with light-grey winding knob, focus & shutter-release)- from 1954-1958, or a beige colour (called "gold", with black controls) from 1958-1960[1]…

The Teddy Camera is a stamped-metal box camera, made c.1924 by the Teddy Camera Company of Newark, NJ. The camera came with a set of sensitized cards, and made 2" x 3½" prints, developed on-the-spot within a tubular developing tank which attached to the bottom. My example is a bit banged up, and doesn't have the developing tank, but as a collector, you take what you can get with a camera as hard-to-find as this one is.
