This can happen naturally or because they were chopped up by the dam. Either way, trout and salmon love to feed on the easy prey that is floating on the surface of the water. Also, a BWO pattern is always what lands me my first fish off a dry fly. Give this one a try if you have smelt around, or swap out the colors to recreate just about any baitfish out there for bass, salmon, or saltwater species.
