The design is created to capture the sunlight through the trees and the dappled shade of a forest. I think this composition is really pleasing and I am delighted to have captured this moment. Like any handmade print, there may be small imperfections, this is natural in a lino print that is 100% handmade. All of my prints are hand carved and hand printed on high quality specialist paper and using caligo safe wash inks. I hope you like it. Relief (linocut) print hand made using Caligo black relief printing ink on Ho-Sho Japanese paper. The black and white image depicts a view along the ridge of Suilven towards Caisteal Liath, its western summit, with rising half-moon above the landscape of hills and lochs in the background. The image is based on the original sketches by the artist made on location in July 2021. This work also forms part of a series of prints influenced by the travel writing and illustrations from the celebrated american artist Rockwell Kent; and reflections on insignificance of a human being in the face of the power and age of Nature. The print is signed and numbered limited edition of 20. Due to the nature of the process there would be slight variations between each print in the edition.
