Located on the Nilachal hill in the capital city of Guwahati, the deity of the temple, Kamakhya Devi is the goddess of desire and represented as the yoni or womb of creation. She is both Kali and Lalita Tripura Sundari. Two faces of the same coin.  This is the place where yoniof Sati fell due to Shiva's tandava nritya or dance of destruction.
