~ Sailor Uranus's stock introduction. |
Sailor Uranus is one of the eight deuteragonists (alongside Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Pluto, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Jupiter) of the Sailor Moon franchise, her real name is Haruka Tenoh (Amara Tenoh in the Cloverway English dub). She is a masculine schoolgirl who can transform into one of the series' specialized heroines, the Sailor Scouts. She is also Sailor Neptune's lover (and her cousin in the CWi English version only).
She is voiced by Megumi Ogata in the original series, and Junko Minagawa in Sailor Moon Crystal for the Japanese Version, and the English version, Erica Mendez in Viz Dub, and Sarah Lafleur in CWi Dub.
Appearance[]
Haruka Tenou[]
Haruka is an older teenage girl with short, pale tan hair and dark blue eyes. She is the tallest Sailor Senshi.
Haruka is mostly shown wearing masculine or unisex clothing, and there are probably zero to two instances of her wearing feminine clothing though she is seen wearing more female clothing in the manga. She is often mistaken for a male, due to her androgynous features. When she studies at the Mugen Academy with Michiru upon their introduction, Haruka wears a winter school uniform for males, a brown long formal suit jacket with the black Mugen Academy emblem at the left side, a white long sleeved button-up shirt with a long shades of green neck tie at the collar, a green and black checkered school pants and brown loafers and black soles and white socks. When Haruka reveals her true gender towards Rei, Makoto and Minako at the end of the episode, she carries her brown formal suit jacket but without the tie and her button shirt was partially opened to show her physical approach as a female.
She also wears a male summer school uniform which is a white short sleeved button-up shirt with a single pocket at the left side while retaining both her tie, school pants and loafers from her winter school uniform.
Her primary casual appearance since the third until the fifth and final season, she wears a light yellow formal suit jacket with a green short-sleeved undershirt, matching white pants with a brown belt around her waist and brown leather shoes. She also wears a golden cross necklace on her neck. In Sailor Stars, the color of her jacket and pants are now gold.
Sailor Uranus[]
Sailor Uranus wears golden tiara with a blue gem in the middle. She also wears golden hoop earrings. Her sailor fuku has blue skirt with a yellow ribbon on her chest and blue ribbon on her back. She wears short blue boots and her gloves are white with blue decoration on the end.
Super Sailor Uranus[]
Her appearance is like the rest of the Super Senshi and she gains another hoop earring on her right ear to make her gold hoop earrings into pair, her uniform has a single white line in each side and her dark blue bow at the back was lengthened and the gem at the center of her bow is now heart-shaped and her choker has a gold star shape at the center of her choker.
Princess Uranus[]
During the Silver Millennium, Sailor Uranus was a Sailor Princess tasked with defending the kingdom from outside invasion and had Miranda Castle. She wore a deep blue gown with ribbons down the back, a choker on her neck and matching high heels. As a Princess, it was her duty to protect the solar system from an outside invasion.
Personality[]
Haruka is one of the most famous out lesbians in the anime fandom. Her masculine persona (by shōjo standards) is one of the standard archetypes in yuri as the lover of Sailor Neptune.
Haruka was a fast runner, a talented pianist, and an accomplished race car and motorcycle driver. She was one of the few characters to be seen operating a car, along with Mamoru Chiba.
She lived the life of the wealthy Tokyo elite and, in the S season of the anime, attended Mugen Academy, a school for genius students. At the time, however, she attended it to infiltrate its operations. She wore the men's uniform of the academy rather than the women's, and was thus often mistaken for a man.
Powers and Abilities[]
As Sailor Scouts of the Air and Skies, Uranus has power over the element of Air (Wind) and can detect supernatural activity in the shifting winds. She can also draw strength from the planet Uranus itself and unleash its mighty power onto her enemies with air/wind-related attacks. She can even create a strong burst of air at her enemy.
