Rain is a minor character in Mortal Kombat 1, serving as a heroic counterpart to the main version of Rain, and is a playable character in the game's final chapter.
Like his counterpart, he is voiced by Norshir Dalal.
Biography[]
While he resembles his New Era counterpart, this version of Rain is said to be the son of the Edenian God Argus. Rain would join the Forces of Light against the army of Titan Shang Tsung.
In Mortal Kombat 1's final chapter Armageddon, he is playable as a potential Final Warrior. Rain fights his way to the top of the Pyramid, and helps Liu Kang to stop Shang Tsung's army, but after Rain defeats Titan Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, Liu Kang sends him back to his respective timeline.

The heroic version of Rain has long hair with a ponytail, and he wears royal clothing, his clothing is purple and his shoulder pads are yellow and his mask is purple with yellow decorations.

- Expert Martial Artist: Rain is very proficient in the Edenian martial arts and is known to be quite a powerful foe. He also uses another fighting style when wielding his scepter.

- Indomitable Will: The mainstream version of Rain has proven to be quite a headstrong warrior. He has a burning desire of gaining power over an entire realm and would not dare to be denied. He has sought to take Edenia's or Outworld's throne for his own even if he was denied by other warriors. Other than his burning desire, he can be disrespectful and mocking to his allies and his foes without showing any fear or regret.

- This version of Rain is more heroic since he has no corrupting qualities, making him incorruptible, in some mirror matches, he is against an evil version of himself who is a half-god and wishes to claim more power for egotistical purposes and another evil incarnation of him who serves Titan Shang Tsung.
- Given that Rain called himself "the son of Argus", it is possible in his native timeline, Taven and Daegon do not exist, and Rain is Argus's legitimate child.
