Kittan Bachika is a supporting protagonist in the anime series Gurren Lagann. He first appears in episode 4 and is the oldest, and only male, of the four Black Siblings, with three younger sisters - Kiyoh Bachika, Kinon and Kiyal. Initially a rival to Kamina, he reappears later and becomes a member of Team Dai-Gurren.
He is voiced by Kisho Taniyama in the Japanese version and Christopher Corey Smith in the English version.
Appearance[]
Kittan is a tall man with a well-built physique and spiky blonde hair. Originally, he wore a black, sleeveless shirt, black pants, and black shoes, but after the 7-year time skip, he had a new outfit similar to his old one, but was more dark blue as opposed to black, and had various red and gold details.
Personality[]
Kittan is shown to be egotistical and shares similar traits to fellow Team Dai-Gurren member, Kamina. After Kamina's death, Kittan considered himself to be the team's new leader, even though no one else agreed. He eventually recognized Simon's leadership over Team Dai-Gurren and grew to respect him. After the time skip, he appears to be more collected and thoughtful. He also developed feelings for Yoko and is shown to enjoy playing with his niece.
Gunman[]
Kittan piloted a gunman he stole, and then proceeded to rename it "King Kittan". It's a pointy, yellow robot that's slightly larger than Lagann. In a parallel works story, It would evolve into "Tengan Toppa King Kittan" in the same way Gurren Lagann did in the final episode.
