~ Andy to his "friends" |
Andy the Apple is the main protagonist of indie horror game Andy's Apple Farm.
He is the playable character of the game of the same name created by Thomas Eastwood around 1983, whom Thomas later possessed after being killed by the Entity. He is voiced by M36Games.
Appearance[]
Andy is a humanoid with an apple for a head, possessing green eyes and a leaf on top of his head. He stands up to about 5'6" (5'8" including his leaf). In his close-up sprite, it can be seen he has cartoonishly round eyes with a mouth as well as rosy cheeks and squiggly black eyebrows. In chapter 1, he wears brown shoes, white overalls, white gloves, and a green sweatshirt underneath. In the Christmas special, he wears a green Christmas sweater with a horizontal light green stripe containing a pattern of him and Claus's faces. He also wears a Santa hat.
Personality[]
Andy the Apple is cheerful, optimistic and always smiling. He even keeps his expression when his friends make rude jokes or when others offend him. He tends to be naive and does whatever his friends tell him to do, even if it is wrong. Andy is also shown to be afraid of the dark and Peter.
Andy's actions are likely being mostly controlled by the game's codes (and how the player moves him) instead of Thomas's actual emotions. Sometimes though, lines of code showing Thomas's true thoughts appear, saying he's sorry or wants to get out. He mostly only speaks during cutscene, leaving some extremely awkward moments where he silently watches Thomas's distorted memories. He doesn't seem to remember when something really disturbing happens or he's shown one of Thomas's flashbacks (though it's possible only the player playing the game sees this). Andy only seems to speak "as Thomas" when he's confronted by Peter the Pumpkin, during which he is scared and considers him a stranger. He shows self-awareness of his situation at one point. When Peter blames him for he death of his son, Andy deflects and says it was his fault.
Biography[]
Andy was created in a video game by Thomas Eastwood which used CSMPC technology to "make the character more lifelike."
Chapter 1[]
In the opening, Andy introduces the game. Once it starts, he heads towards his friends who ask him to play games with him. He accepts and they offer his house keys as a prize. He plays I-Spy with Claus, a dancing game with Melody, fruit sorting with Margaret and fishing with Felix in the order that the player chooses.
After completing all of his friends minigames, Andy makes it to the barn, but gets locked inside by his friends. Inside, he meets an unregistered character named Peter the Pumpkin who wishes to play tag with him. Andy is "it" first and chases Peter. If Andy succeeds, Peter becomes "it", though transforming into a more monster-like appearance and chasing Andy.
Chapter 2[]
Andy is set to appear in this. In the trailer, he regroups with his friends and announces that he found his keys much to his friends' surprise. Later, he and his friends will make a visit to the Fun Faire, meeting Bailey the Bee there. It is also confirmed that he is going to question the Pumpkin's true identity.
