***5 STARS***

"Imaging having a person love you so much that they'd risk everything to be with you. I have that. That makes me the luckiest fucker in the world."

I finished this book after binge reading it in four hours and I am reminded again of why I love romance novels. Real life and love is not a Disney movie. Prince Charming does not ride up on his white steed, save the princess and they live happily every after. In the real world sh*t happens. There are obstacles that must be overcome in every relationship. And sometimes those obstacles can destroy trust and cause hurt. Belle Aurora perfectly captured this!

Clash, a rockstar romance, is more than the fame and the accolades that come along with that life but the angst that being in a relationship with a truly troubled individual can bring you. Clash is no hero and you will be sadly disappointed if you go into this book thinking that. He was a jerk and an asshole, but he is real. Emily meanwhile is all that is good and innocent in the world and she deserves to be cherished and love. Is Clash up to the task?

I went through a lot of emotions while reading this book and you probably will too. But I encourage you to give Clash a chance in finding his happily ever after. I believe you will enjoy the ride....I know I did.

This book ranks as one of the best of the year and I have been eagerly anticipating Belle Aurora to write again! She is an awesome writer if you haven't read her and this is the perfect book to jump into because it is the first book of the series.

I very HIGHLY recommend.

5 Fight for the One you Love Stars ⭐

That girl is a firecracker. One day, the world is gonna know it, and wonder how in the hell they never saw it the first time round.

Emmy has led a sheltered yet blissfully happy life with her Nanna. The epitome of goodness, it’s no surprise she has spent the last 3 years trying to care for the person that raised her. Now forced to put Nanna in a care facility, she is in desperate need of a job and income. And it’s this reason that sees her gatecrashing a job interview she knows very little about.

With little skill but all innocent charm, she does the impossible and lands the role. This is how she finds herself touring with one of the biggest rock bands ‘Left Turn’ as their PA. Completely out of her element, she is soon welcomed into the fold and revered by the band members, Noah, Lee, Hell and reluctantly Clash.

"Connor... " My heart started to race. "No."

"Why not? " He sounded a little vexed. "You’re single, and I wanna mingle—" He bit his tongue cheekily. "—with your cooch."

Connor Clash, rock god, enigmatic, and grade A tormentor. And to his dismay, he has no intention of liking the new PA, however he keeps gravitating towards her sincerity. With many demons, Emmy unexpectedly becomes his calm and obsession.

Except she makes a rookie mistake. Emmy falls in love and flays herself open for him. Unfortunately, Clash only has one method of not coping, and that’s to burn anything good to ashes, and it’s devastating. I can assure you that there is a HEA for these two but the road to forgiveness is long, agonising and bittersweet.

"Imagine having a person love you so much that they’d risk everything to be with you." He spoke quietly. "I have that." For a moment, he looked utterly overwhelmed. "That makes me the luckiest fucker in the world."

A story of the good girl who falls in love with a rock god. Not exactly original but damn this was one helluva rollercoaster ride. Edgy, amusing, inspiring and ugly in parts. Clash was an epic read that captured my imagination and left me giddy. We have waited patiently for this story, and it didn’t disappoint.

She was in love with me.
And I pretended not to know.
I didn’t deserve her love. I was an asshole. she was too pure, too innocent, and I would somehow destroy that part of her.
That didn’t mean I didn’t want her.

Emily Aldrich is an innocent sweetheart who suddenly finds herself unable to care for nanna. Due to the financial constraints of finding a care facility, she unexpectedly falls into the role of becoming the Private Assistant of a world-renowned rock band called Left Turn. Along the way she makes some exciting friendships with the band members and ventures into a way of life she never thought she'd ever experience. And like any good rockstar romance, stuff happens on tour…

Belle Aurora is an author I know I’ll always get a good kick out of. She definitely has her own brand of comedy that amuses me to no end. And of course, I’m always prepared for the second-hand embarrassment that comes with her over-the-top heroines. But in saying that, this book was far more complex and angsty than I was expecting.

I have to applaud the author for sticking to her guns and making us wait so long to make the hero even remotely likeable. For me, it was around the 75% mark. Subverting expectations takes balls. And I can’t imagine how many people must’ve DNF’d or gave up on the story. Having readers truly come face to face with an extremely ugly side of a character can be very polarising.

The rockstar hero, Connor Clash, was an unhinged, grade A asshole. I hated him so much and there were times where I thought he was a completely irredeemable waste of space. Even now, I’m still annoyed at a lot of the choices he made throughout the story. But as any other good romance goes, he did win me over (barely)... While I would still love to stick pins in his eyeballs, I was rooting for him to conquer his demons and to finally be worthy of Emily. It was just so hard to watch him spiral into self-destruction… but at the same time, his flaws and actions were real. And I liked that he did everything he could to win back Emily.

“I am not letting you go. I’m gonna fight hard, baby." He sniffed. “I’ll fight dirty if I have to.””

I really liked Emily and I enjoyed seeing her blossom. She was a bit of a doormat and she hates confrontation BUT I’M LIKE THAT SO I CAN’T JUDGE LOL. Honestly, I still think she was too good for Connor but I digress. Overall, I liked her character development and appreciated how she always stayed true to herself.

The secondary characters were great! I loved the sense of girl power in this one, and how a lot of the females were there to build each other up. Aurora certainly knows how to write platonic relationships well. I also loved Emily’s friendship with the rest of the bandmembers: Noah, Helmer and Lee. I laughed so hard at their jokes and antics; I seriously hope they get their own books!

My only criticism was that there were a few very important plot details that were thrown in with no buildup or hints given in advance, so they felt like huge curveballs and sometimes disrupted the flow of the story...

Clash isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Connor was a MAJOR asshole, and I’m sure readers will want to give up on him like I did, but I do recommend sticking it through because you will be rewarded. (The epilogue was EVERYTHING!) All in all, if you’re looking for a rockstar romance with a side of bullying, comedy AND you have a high tolerance for infuriating heroes, look no further… you have been fairly warned though!

Two ★ Things
First, Emily "Emmy" Aldrich achieved #SaintStatus multiple times throughout Clash. How she never b-slapped Connor is beyond me. Honestly, I wish I had half the patience she possessed because, mmmmm 😒 fists would've been flying, and words woulda been shouted.

Second, Connor Clash is an asshole . He's an asshole to the 10th degree. He deserved to be thrown off Left Turn's (moving) tour bus after the shit he pulled. Seriously, they should've opened the door and pushed Connor onto the moving highway. And yet. . . he was also a lovable asshole? gah, what a conundrum!

Emmy is basically sweetness personified. She's practically a saint and she deserves a damn medal for putting up with not only Connor Clash, but the rest of Left Turn as well. The title of the book may be Connor's namesake, but without a doubt CLASH is Emmy's book. It's the story of her growth, her triumphs, her lows, and over the course of the story we see her fully come into her own.
I would rise up from the ashes and show the world my feathers. Tone it down some, Emmy. Right. Okay. Truth was, I was not the same Emily I had been when I left home three months ago. I was braver, stronger and smarter.

When we meet Emmy at the beginning of CLASH she is the literal definition of sheltered. She's been raised by her grandmother, has been taking care of her grandmother, and more importantly has the mentality of a sweet grandmother (in the best way possible, of course). Thus, she ends up being the perfect assistant for Left Turn. Her strengths while not immediately apparent come out in subtle ways. We witness her put each of the band members in their place, we see her be there for them, and we also watch on as her and Connor form a sweet romantic friendship.
❝Well?❞
My head tilted as I thought about it. ❝I liked yours better.❞
❝Emmy.❞ He chuckled in disbelief. ❝You can’t beat a classic.❞ Then, suddenly, he stopped laughing and pursed his full lips. ❝Although, flattery will get you everywhere.❞

Emmy is the type of woman that you want to be friends with. She will be bluntly honest in her own kind way, she will have your back through thick and thin, and she's someone who always has a sweet word and a smile. Ultimately, Emmy's growth and personality made it easy for me to root for her. Now were there times I wanted to grab her by the shoulders and shake her? Abso-fucking-loutely. But, even when I was annoyed with her I couldn't help but cheer her on, bad mistakes and all.

⋆✿⋆ ʟᴇꜰᴛ ᴛᴜʀɴ // ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪxᴇɴꜱ ⋆✿⋆
❝I saw what he did to you.❞
Moving back, I came to stand in her open doorway.
❝Don’t…❞ She faltered. ❝Don’t forget what he did. It’s okay to forgive.❞ Her voice was deathly calm. ❝But don’t ever forget.❞

CLASH was not just the story of Emmy and Connor, it was also the story of Emmy finding her family. While most of the focus was on Emmy and Connor, because duh, this be a romance, there was also ample time dedicated to Left Turn and The Vixens. The Vixens especially were a standout, in my humble opinion. The way they essentially adopted Emmy into their band was beautiful and displayed the true meaning of 'sisterhood'. They were so protective and supportive of Emmy and each member had a special bond with her.

Moreover, the bonds she formed with the guys from Left Turn were tear inducing. They automatically treated her like an honorary little sister. They looked out for her and it was clear from early on that they truly respected her. Even when things between her and Conor went side-ways they still worried about Emmy.

There was a strong theme of 'found family' in CLASH and it was present from beginning to end. Author, Belle Aurora did a phenomenal job actually fleshing out not only her main characters, but her side characters as well. You'll come to care about not just Emmy and Connor, but all of Left Turn and The Vixens.

I've gotta be honest. . . i mean these reviews are nothing if not honest.
    i - i don't really like musician//rockstar//music-related romances 🙈✨

I KNOW, I KNOW. I feel so bad saying that because I know a lot of you guys do, buuuut, IDK, they just don't do it for me. However, after reading ren ♡ 's review I couldn't help but check CLASH out. And boy am I glad I did. What CLASH really excelled at was not only making me care about the characters, but the music as well.
When the song finished, I blew out a long shaky breath from between my lips and swallowed hard. I turned to Connor and found a slight frown creasing his brow. ❝What is it?❞
He shook his head slowly. ❝Sometimes I forget why we do this.❞ He twisted to lie on his back, putting a hand behind his head. ❝You just reminded me.❞

The music was an honorary character in CLASH and was clearly present from beginning to end. It gave us small romantic moments - Connor introducing Emmy to classic bands - and it gave us grandiose awe inspiring moments - like when Left Turn played a sold out show. The music was everything in this story, and it played a somewhat important role. Plus, I loved all the different music references, I always love me a QUEEN shoutout!

Well. . . here we are. We're now gonna talk about the spotted elephant in the room, Connor 'Fucking' Clash. I - hmmm. I'm. . . conflicted. On the one hand, he was an extreme asshole.
ʟᴇᴛ'ꜱ ꜱᴇᴇ. . .

᧒. 🎶 he slept with OW and made Emmy escort them out of his room.

ᒿ. 🎶 he constantly makes fun of Emmy for. . . um, everything.

ᗱ. 🎶 Emmy basically has to force Connor to go to rehab.

ᔰ. 🎶 he writes. . . the song.

Ƽ. 🎶 that 50% break-up? devastation? train-wreck?

And yet. . . he was so freaking sweet

As Emmy succinctly put it ~
Connor Clash was an enigma. He could be the rudest person you had ever met but he could also be sweeter than pie.

Connor almost had a. . . split personality, if you will. He was super protective of Emmy one moment, ready to fight anyone who dared mess with her, but then the next second he'd be the one inflicting the pain. His character growth was, immense. Connor started as an asshole, then he slowly morphed into a lovable asshole, then he became a full on douchecanoe, until finally he became an actually decent human man who was able to emote a full range of emotions.
❝I saw you. You were different with her.❞ [. . .] ❝I saw the way you looked at her when you thought no one was watching. I saw the way she made you laugh. I saw you be gentle with someone for the first time in your miserable life.❞

Moreover, I loved the way BELLE AURORA actually made Connor Clash such a well rounded character. He was complex, had some issues he definitely needed to work out, and deep deep deep down he was kinda a lovable guy. In addition, his grovel game was fabulous. He basically does the thing at around ꜰɪꜰᴛʏ ᴘᴇʀᴄᴇɴᴛ and then spends the next ꜰɪꜰᴛʏ ᴘᴇʀᴄᴇɴᴛ basically doing everything to make things right with Emmy.

~ ✨ ᴛʜᴜꜱ, ᴍʏ ᴄᴏɴᴜɴᴅʀᴜᴍ ✨ ~ I think, ultimately, you have to judge Connor Clash for yourself. Personally, I ended up loving him. He started out as a fun lovable asshole, he did the thing (thus causing me to want to castrate him), and then actually tried // morphed into a better person. He realized that to earn Emmy's love he actually needed to work on himself. That - that takes guts. He put in the work and fought hard for his HEA with Emmy.

⋆✘⋆ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴏᴍᴀɴᴄᴇ ⋆♥⋆
❝Hey, Emmy.❞ He pressed his lips to the shell of my ear and whispered, ❝Wanna make out?❞
❝Only if you’re good.❞ … for the first time since I met him, Connor Clash was rendered completely speechless.

I - liked the romance? Hmmmm. Once again, I'm conflicted. In the beginning I really loved Emmy and Connor together. They start out having a sort of combative relationship, meaning - Connor teased and made fun of Emmy for being, well, Emmy. Then, over the course of the Left Turn tour we witness Emmy and Connor become actual friends. Their friendship // friends-w/benefits was the true highlight of CLASH.
❝Don’t ever let anyone speak to you like that.❞ He was livid. ❝Not even me.❞ Said the guy wearing a No Fat Chicks T-shirt.

Then. . . the incident happened. So, let me explain. . . the devastation that occurred.
First, Emmy and Connor meet. They become friends. Then, Emmy and Connor start exploring their unexpected chemistry. Emmy catches feels for Connor, and it's super obvious to everyone involved and around them. Emmy and Connor sleep together, and Emmy loses her virginity. . . yay.

But, then. *sighs and screams internally* . . .

Connor writes a song about Emmy loosing her virginity and it happens to become a number one hit. Oh and then he breaks her heart and shatters it into a million pieces. Then he proceeds to fall into a drug induced depression and crawls out of it by the skin of his teeth.

❝What?❞ I chuckled. ❝Don’t tell me you thought you were special.❞ It was harsh. Harsh was good. It was also a lie but she need never know that. She was special. Fuck, she was everything.

PLUS, he drunkenly married Emmy in Vegas and refuses to divorce her. . . what an adventure.

Now, I kinda got a sense from other peoples reviews and Connor general demeanor that something would happen. I guess what I wasn't expecting was the way his betrayal landed like a drop-kick to the ovaries. I'm not gonna lie, it was hard to root for the romance after Connor did what he did. I was pretty much #TeamCutHisDickOff for a good percentage of the book.

Overall, I think Connor kinda made up for things. From the way he did everything in his power to show Emmy how sorry he was, to the way he never stopped apologizing, or the way he defended Emmy and fought to protect her, to the way he lived up to all his promises, and ultimately you could tell he truly loved her He loved her so intensely and it was clear that he truly was sorry for what he did. Honestly, he knew he wasn't good enough for Emmy, but he was obviously going to try and prove every day that he was worthy of her love.
❝I’m just trying to fix this mistake.”
My hands fell from my brow and my eyes widened. ❝Why are you fighting this?❞
He gaped at me a second before he opened his mouth and bellowed, ❝Because you’re worth fighting for.❞ Connor came undone. ❝Because I don’t want to lose you.❞ Frustration had him running a hand down his face and he looked at me, miserable. ❝Because I fucking love you, Emmy.❞

Ultimately, Connor did everything right. He proved time and time again that he truly, from the bottom of his heart, was sorry. In the end, I forgave Connor Clash, buuuut I never forgot.

⋆✘⋆ ᴇᴍᴍʏ ~ ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀɴ ɢʀᴏᴠᴇʟ ⋆♥⋆
❝Trust takes years to build, a second to break, and a lifetime to repair.❞

Emmy, Emmy, Emmy. You sweet summer child. I - *shakes head* I don't know what to do with you. Quite honestly the most frustrating part of CLASH (and the incident) was the way Emmy didn't allow Connor to grovel. Or, well, she kinda did, but not in a satisfying enough way for my petty ass.
❝Okay. I won’t push.❞ Before I got up, I kissed her hair. ❝You are a beautiful, independent woman who doesn’t need a man.❞ When she huffed out a laugh, I added a smiling, ❝But there’s no shame in wanting one, Cher.❞

See, once Connor gets out of rehab and realizes he majorly messed up he begins to grovel. And. It. Is. GLORIOUS. Truly, it's wonderful. At first Emmy makes him grovel, doesn't take his shit at all, and it seems like we're about to have a true #HusbandGrovelParty. And then. . . Emmy just, forgives him? Like - what?

Emmy, sweetie, honey, in the wise words of Ms. Pheobe Buffay ~

It was just. . . weird. What Connor did was not only heartbreaking, but it was also a huge breach of trust, and she just - FORGIVES HIM?!?! After his second apology? I - *deep sigh* uggggh. I just wanted more. Her forgiving Connor so easily felt strange and left a bad taste in my mouth. Now, he never stopped groveling, but since Emmy was over here like, "i love and forgive you," the impact wasn't as intense. uggghhh, i'm still so mad about this.

-ˏˋ ᴘᴀʀᴛ ꜰᴏᴜʀ ~ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡʀᴀᴘ ᴜᴘ ˎˊ-
❝I’ll never let you down, not ever again.❞ His earnest tone was quiet. ❝I want to be everything to you, like you are to me. You’re my first and only priority and, if you let me, I’ll spend the rest of my life showing you just how much you mean to me.❞

⋆✿⋆ ɪɴ ᴄᴏɴᴄʟᴜꜱɪᴏɴ⋆✿⋆

Connor Clash and Emily "Emmy" Aldrich-Clash's love is, in a word? Messy. Their love is messy. It's raw. It's music. It's happiness, it's sorrow, it's joy, and it's pain. Their road to happily ever after is far from easy. And before they can even dream of being together they had to go on separate journeys of self discovery. Thus, when they finally did reunite they did so stronger, and better, than ever.

Ultimately, CLASH will not be for everyone. Connor is a bit of an asshole. Emmy is a certified hoe for anything remotely having to do with Connor Clash. Connor does some pretty unforgivable things. Emmy takes him back after his second apology. And yet. . . and yet this story was something special. I enjoyed the wild ride and I'm honestly so bummed the author never continued this series. fingers crossed that she'll someday come back to it. Thus, if you like a good grovel, have a weakness for bad boy rockstars, or just want an entertaining read, then go right ahead and check out CLASH.

the way im obsessed with Emmy Aldrich... and Connor Clash.

the way these two loved each other?🥺🥰 i was not expecting to fall for either characters like i did.

immediately, i adored Emmy. oh my god was she a pure sweetheart. her naivety was endearing, not off putting like it tends to, she was just sheltered but so kind, warm and loving, and craved to be loved by others in return. eurgh i just loved her. the scene when the guys do their first sound check and she was squealing and dancing, so excited to watch them play was truly a delight. i had the biggest smile on my face. i just wanted to hug her and protect her at all costs.

she just had this thirst for life, so true to herself and never compromised who she was for anyone else. definitely a new fave heroine.

and i loved how the guys (sans Connor initially) were all so kind, caring and protective of her from the moment they met her. it was truly so sweet!!

the way they all protected her🥺 the scene where Hell hid her from Lee bcos she stole his Nintendo was so adorably funny. her giggling in the cubby, while Hell shielded her... i was truly giggling along with her. the author truly nailed the sense of love and camaraderie between all of the characters— i was honestly obsessed and think the friendships stole the show.

Noah was so loyal and attentive, Lee hilarious and easygoing, Hell so protective and kind... i just loved them🥰 them all jamming to ABBA, standing up for Emmy, and fighting for her was all a warm delight.

while the girl power of the Vixens and Emmy was also a treat. no woman hate in sight. usually rockstar romances are dripping in misogyny and double standards, so it was refreshing af to see Emmy and the four Vixens be besties, encouraging and building each other up. they protected her fiercely and she fought for them too. again, their soft spot for Emmy was so heartwarming— Cherry i adored. the way she was ready to fight Connor at every turn just on Emmy’s behalf? get you a bestie like Cherry.

all the friendships are so well-developed and laid out, they were fully fleshed out characters but didn’t stifle the main romance of Emmy and Connor. it was truly the perfect balance of romance, angst, humour and friendship.

now, Connor. im gonna split him up into pre-incident and post-incident. bcos he made me feel a lot of different things— this bitch had me going through the motions.

pre-incident Connor:

he was actually so goddam funny😭 i wasn’t expecting that at all. i laughed so much at some of the shit he did and said:
Connor coming out of the bathroom and squeezing the side of my boob while making a beep sound was the last straw.

He didn’t even look at her. Instead, he came over to me and said the same thing he said to me every morning. “Hey, Emmy.” He picked up an apple and bit into it. “Wanna fuck?”

the whole “you’re poofy?” in the last chapter truly made my heart melt while making me laugh so hard, while the fucking Hairy Twatter interaction had me cackling in my bedroom at one o’clock in the morning trying to keep quiet😭

My eyes narrowed. “You haven’t read or seen Harry Potter?”
Taking a handful of chips, he threw them into his mouth and crunched noisily. “I’ve seen Hairy Twatter.”
Before I could stop myself, I uttered a grossed out, “Ew.”
“But let me tell you.” He stepped closer as if he were revealing some collaborative information. “I don’t think Jugwarts was a real school.” He looked thoughtful. “I mean, I have my doubts, you know? Because—” He scoffed. “When Professor Snake walked into class in his chaps with his cock out and nobody flinched….” He shrugged. “Just saying.”
I wanted to laugh but I wouldn’t. He’d like that too much. “You’re ruining my favorite movie.”
Connor quit chewing and his brows arched. “Hairy Twatter?”

so his unabashed humour definitely reeled me in, which snagged me and opened him up into this soft, caring guy who didn’t think he was worth love. he was also surprisingly sweet to Emmy despite him being a bit of a dick in the beginning, with them bonding over music being so sweet to read. he had two sides to him— the one he showed the world and the one specially for Emmy. he caught me by surprise and wormed his way into my heart, for sure.

the way he low-key pined for her and admired her was everything. like this bitch did not want to fall in love with the glasses-wearing, sheltered girl in oversized jeans... but she snagged him, hook, line and sinker (like she did me).

and it was their friendship that blossomed into love that i think made this so believable and real. she didn’t take any of his shit and their interactions were truly hilarious. like their time at the strip club was so funny omg. Emmy being the empowering bitch she is, yelling at the stripper “Take it off, but only if you want to!” and “My opinion of your body is irrelevant because you’re a strong woman and you don’t care what I think!” while Connor was just being obscene af. like damn, she was such a sweetheart. they just had this easy connection that flowed so beautifully between them— it was soft and unassuming in the beginning, blossoming into this really intense love that i was not expecting... and Connor clearly wasn’t expecting either.

which leads me to... the incident.👁👄👁

post-incident Connor:

disrespectfully, this bitch can choke.

i will hand it to him... his fuckup was unique. points for creativity. but damn was he so fucking mean?? and it totally throat-punched the fuck out of me bcos id gotten so used to his softness around Emmy, so for him to go and do... THAT? best you believe i was pissed.

and sad for Emmy :(((( my lil sweetheart, Emmy. i felt Cherry on a spiritual level when she wanted to protect Emmy at all costs and had to be held back by Hell before trying to physically maul Connor😭 like this bitch was this close 👌🏻 to tearing his fucking eyes out for hurting Emmy. i approved.

reading his inner monologue tho straight after... i was surprisingly not mad? well i was, but i understood him. i felt his turmoil, regret and sorrow, it consumed me like it did him

then watching him spiral afterwards... i actually felt sorry for him? i could feel everything he was. it was intense and overwhelming so, despite his major fuckup, i was rooting for him to succeed. his sweetness and sincerity was just 🥺 like this man loved her and i truly could not deny that while reading.

unlike the last rockstar romance i read, Stoned, with a hero who monumentally fucked up, i felt Connor’s desperation, his remorse, his love... just everything that encompassed Connor’s whirlwind of emotions. unlike Stone who was too arrogant for his own good. that’s probably where Connor succeeded at winning me over— bitch packed up and left his pride at the door. he literally had nothing but his love for Emmy and was willing to do anything for her. even if it hurt him. wounded his pride and heart. he did it bcos he knew that’s what she needed.

it wasn’t about him. it was about her and her healing and forgiveness. that was Connor’s saving grace for me here. but i do wish Emmy had put out a lil longer tho... just a smidgen more. i wanted that bitch to bleed a lil longer (sorry, Connor bby ily).

AND i loved how none of his friends took his shit and defended him when he was shitty. in a lot of rockstar romances (or even when the hero is a regular guy) his band of friends all defend and support him, telling the heroine that it’s just “him being him” and not to think too deeply, like it excuses his behaviour :// they end up enabling him and i always fucking despise it.

here? Lee was throwing shit ready to beat Connor up. Noah was seriously taunting the fuck out of him and making sure he knew what he’d lost. all the guys even contemplated kicking him out the band. they didn’t let him get away with shit and it just made me love the guys even more than i already did— which i didn’t think was possible.

and Connor’s fuckup led to some real personal growth. the whole Violet Dame storyline was a wild ride, haha. i wasn’t sure how i felt about it in the beginning since i didn’t want Emmy to change for anyone... but watching her just grow in confidence and so sure of herself? i couldn’t deny it. you could feel in the pages how she’d evolved, she backed herself and loved herself, so different from the girl we first met. i truly just loved everything about this. i need more romances with douchey heroes who actually redeem themselves.

Connor Clash and Emmy Aldrich truly have my heart, eurgh.

Surprisingly, Connor simply stood back and watched me with a small smile etched on his face. I detected something veiled in his expression.
Pride, maybe?
As usual, I pretended not to care what Connor thought, when in reality that tiny, hidden smile made my entire night.

and shoutout to my girl Julia for recommending this to me, withstanding all my midnight ramblings and ruining my life with this book✌🏻

I am pretty tired from reading non stop in the last couple of days so this is gonna be a quicky.

I love this author.. some of her books are my most frequent rereads. So after a long long wait I jumped for joy when this one was out.

It started out awesome and I couldn't put it down. However... Halfway through the hero makes a pretty fucked up decision and after that.. things kind of slowed down. I didn't feel the same excitement I did when reading the second half. I even skimmed some bits..

Maybe it's because things got sidetracked. The heroine went through some pretty drastic changes in a short punt of time and I had some problems following along. I guess I liked her so much more in the beginning.

So even though I did really enjoy reading this one.. I wasn't blown away by it, like I was by some of the previous books by this author.

I am going with 3,5 stars ..

'Connor Clash was an enigma. He could be the rudest person you had ever met, but he could also be sweeter than pie. It was all rather confusing and one fateful day on the bus, eight days into the tour, I found the courage to ask him a loaded question.
“Why are you the way you are?”'

Twenty-four-year-old Emily Aldrich was a sweet and naive on so many levels. She may be insecure but she is brave and caring. Her Nana has been her world since her mum died now she has dementia and Emily is ready to take care of her. But when dangerous situations occur her Nana needed to be admitted to facility, Emily wants nothing more to give her Nana a safe and comfort place but for that she needs money.
Meeting thirty-year-old Conner Clash, the famous rockstar and his big awesome brothers/team-members has been a new embodiment to bringing out her inner side. Conner is moody and is rude from the beginning and he has issues of trust.

'Every time she took a punch, she got back on her feet.
She was honest to a fault and that was so rare a find it made her special.
Emmy was brave and selfless, and I now knew that no matter what I first thought of her, she didn’t need us.
We needed her. Desperately.'

I absolutely love Emily's banter with the boys, "boys are gross" and "farts" really are some obvious facts that handsome, dashing guys can have. They don't have to be pagan perfect all the time. Despite the handsome men around Emily is attracted to Conner. Conner's issues breaks Emily's heart as he walks her over. His cautiousness becomes an obstacle for Emily but he does repent it.

This is a story of a flawed rockstar and his shy dame. The story is predictable but I loved how weakness and bravery was used among the main characters. Sometimes I want to hit Conner for being such an idiot and purposely ruining his chances with Emily but I guess he was insecure to open himself up. I'm hoping there are individual books for the rest of the crew members.

Miss Aurora gives the ugly duckling a whole new meaning.
Emmy I love you and your “indecent curves”.

Perhaps I should start in the beginning, we get a glimpse of Emmy’s life and how her grandmother first started developing signs for dementia. She’s such a selfless caring person and all the insecurities she had never weighed her down.

Finally strapped for cash she does the unthinkable and earns herself a job as an assistant to the Left Turn as they go on tour for three months.

I’ve fallen in love with every band member!
Believe me, Emmy did too! My god Noah. I’d die for you.
Okay enough about that.

Everyone loves Emmy, unfortunately it took a bit of a warming up on Connor’s behalf.
Emmy and Connor’s journey from enemy to best friend to lovers is one I don’t want to leave.
I’ll definitely be re reading this book. Looking forward to the series.

Also shout out to the vixens!

Well. I was a bit scared to start this because so many people said negative things about it. But I soo wanted to read it. Because: ROCK STAR ROMANCE! My favorite. And I loved it. The first half was this amazingly adorable, funny, heartbreaking, tour-bus-rock-star-ish story. And then there's a bit of a weird turn, but I didn't stop reading. It got better again. It was just adorable in the end. Yes, we have some very sad and hard moments, but it was still a very beautiful rock star romance and I loved it.
I just wish that the first half of the book would've been the whole book. I could've done without the break-up and the drug stuff and the whole Vixen manager / New Emmy thing. Some things were just a bit redundant (drugs, rap song) and silly (Emmy's über-naive upbringing & her not knowing anything) and weird (the whole purpling her - why? Why did she have to be such a visible manager in the first place? So weird!). Also - a pet peeve of mine. If an author can't stop using endless Australian or British expressions and words in their 'American' books, why not just write a story that is set in your country?? I just hate that. But I'm the only one, so, don't worry. ☺ Also, another look by a good proofreader wouldn't have hurt either.
But I still loved reading this.
I love it when a rock star romance is a real rock star romance. With scenes in a tour bus and in hotels et cetera. Beautiful story. Beautiful (aka HOT) cover!
Can't wait to read the other stories!

5 ROCKSTAR ROMANCE STARS!!

This rockstar romance is more than just sexy! It’s a story of self-discovery, pain and loss. But also unconditional love. A book I could not put down and cannot wait for more!

The author gave us characters that were layered and tortured by the harshness of life. This isn’t just the story of a rockstar falling down the rabbit hole. It’s his story of taking control of his life, winning back the woman who owns him heart and soul, and finding true happiness. It’s also about a girl who came into her own and became a force in her own right. Two parallel lives will collide and it’s going to be explosive.

Connor is your typical, broody rockstar. Women, booze and partying. Their tour is about to start. His band, Left Turn gets a new assistant, Emmy. She’s tiny and shy. She’s going to be fun to torment. That’s how he rolls. She turns out to be nothing that he expected.

Emmy has not had it easy. This job was a lifesaver. She’s got her secrets, but she’s going to make a go of this assistant gig...no matter what.

The guys are not what she expected. It doesn’t take long for them to welcome her into the fold. It’s easy to love naive Emmy. She wins them over, all except Connor. That moody jerk is a challenge to even tolerate. He just loves pushing her buttons. That line between love and hate is going to be obliterated.

This is the evolution of Emmy and Connor. She’ll go from meek and scared to strong and fearless. A woman who does what she wants, but at her core is still that sheltered girl with a beautiful heart. He’ll finally find the one who will breakdown his walls and then he’ll hit rockbottom. He’ll be forced to face his truth and work to fix what he broke. Along the way hearts will be broken. But true happiness often comes after you weather the storm.

I absolutely loved Emmy and Connor. I cannot wait for more of their crews!

Belle Aurora is one of my favorite authors. RAW was my first Dark Romance novel, and I fell in love with her writing when I read that book. She continued to publish great books with amazing characters. So I was pretty excited when Belle announced Clash' release date. I was counting down the days and I couldn't wait to one-click it. However, my expectations for this book weren't fully met. I was hooked to the story in the beginning, I even got emotional just a few pages in. I would've loved this book if it was released a couple of years ago. But I have evolved as a reader and I just want something more in the books I read.

This book had things I loved and things I disliked. I loved Emily's relationship with all the band members. It was very special and hilarious at times. It was obvious that they all cared for her very much. They were such awesome characters, and definitely were a big reason I still enjoyed this book even if I didn't end up loving it. I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot, but the second half it just got a bit crazy. It was just a bit over the top, things started escalating and it had me shaking my head. I also thought Emily was a bit too naïve and sheltered. So her transformation later on in the book didn't fully come across as believable. As for Connor, I didn't like him. He did something that shocked me so much that I was frozen for a minute or two. Emily in my opinion forgave him too quickly. Overall this wasn't my favorite by Belle, but she was still able to get me emotional. Even though I didn't love this one, I still look forward to reading her new books.

Gah, what happened? Loved the concept of a shy, sheltered girl getting a job with a rock band and, of course, falling in love. But this just took it to the extreme! Emily wasn't just shy and sheltered, she was ignorant of the world to the point where she could have been brought up in a convent or time travelled from the 1950's. I get she was too poor to have internet or a smart phone, but still...

Her base cultural references were Paul Anka and I Love Lucy. This started out pretty good, when she met the band and they were blown away that she'd never heard of them, it was pretty cute.

But then, it went so ott. When she first heard them play, she damn near had a spiritual moment, hearing rock music, unable to control her shivers and her literal physical pull towards them and the music. They start educating her on classic rock by sharing their mp3 players. The first time she heard Queen? She cried virgin tears of sorrow when she found out Freddie Mercury was dead. He was so before his time! Eye. Roll.

Then there was the seduction by Connor. That just felt creepy, almost like he was grooming her or something. First he introduces the idea of sex by asking her if she wants to fuck daily. They start hanging in the evenings where he begins touching her, non-sexually. Then sexually, but promises over-the-clothes-only to start. Needless to say, it leads to her losing her virginity to him, and it was just uncomfortable, they way he coaxed her into sex.

Did I mention this whole time, she thinks she is just a side-piece? That he is still banging the groupies on the reg?

Of course everybody loves her, from the band members to the managers to the opening act girl-band on tour with them.

Anyway, we're only at the 50% point here, so then he does the biggest asshole thing ever, like if you like an asshole in romance this was a good one, and she bolts. As she should have.

But then this sweet innocent miss comes back with the girl-band as a sexy seductress bombshell! She has millions upon millions of followers on social media! She does 200 squats per day and has the best ass evah!

Connor regrets his actions that drove her away. Connor loved her before she was hot. Connor becomes suicidal!

Sigh.

Obviously she forgives him, and he does grovel and better himself, but I'm done. I quit at 87% (!!) because it dragged after they got back together. I don't give a shit why Connor has demons. I don't give a shit whether little miss perfect will have to be on the edge for the rest of her life to make sure Connor doesn't go off the deep end again. I do believe Connor will never risk losing her again, since you know, he now pretty much pathological about her. HEA!

Clash and Emmy are IT! Can someone get me an Emmy to call me “sweetie” when I’m feeling down? No? Okay.
Clash is your typical rock star, all that matters to him is his music, groupies and, sometimes, his friends. Emmy is all that is good in the world, seriously, she’s the nicest person ever! I love her!
When these two come together is super cute and hot although it turns sour quick enough. This story deals with addition and regrets but it does have a happy ending!
Overall, I LOVED this book!

I read it again. I loved it again. This is one of my older reviews and it tells you too much. So don't read it if you don't want to know too much but read the book...today!

Holy hell,

I.Am.Ruined.

My Utterly Unashamed friend Katie has written a lot about her love of the MC, in her last review she said:

“Okay…. The sex was amazing, this is why before I die I need to meet just one biker who lives up to all my future biker husband dreams. A real biker. Please lord tell me that somewhere in the world there are actual bikers who look like these men. Like real 1 percenters!!”

I feel like this about rock stars. I just love rock stars. I don’t know what it is, is it the hard edge, the way they hide their soft side from the world, it is their love of music juxtaposed with not having anyone know the real man, is it the tattoos, the tight jeans, the t-shirts that pull across their chest and biceps. Or is it the music...the feeling a man can sing through lyrics and instruments. Seriously, just all of it.

"To the world, Connor was a star. But to me, he was slowly becoming my entire universe."

Now, other than rock stars I am obsessed with books that make me “feel.”

"Jesus, She was air and I was dying to breathe."

"The nurse watched me gently climb in next to nanna, take her hand in mine and lean my head against hers. I didn't know what to say to her. How do you thank somebody for being everything you needed and more?"

This book had both. I laughed, I cried, and I felt like my heart was in a vise...the.entire.time.

Not just one rock star, four. Noah, Hell, Lee, and Clash were all amazing and lovable and HOT! Most rock star series save the most damaged, troubled guy for the last book. Not Reisz, we dove into Clash in this first book. He has had trouble with drugs, been in rehab, and has a massive chip on his shoulder. But when he finds what he wants - watch out.

“She was my wettest dream and my deepest regret.”

Then arrives Emily. She is a quiet mouse of a girl who has been sheltered her whole life and bullied all through school. She never felt like she fit in. She has been raised by her grandmother who is suffering from dementia. She has quit her job to take care of her full time but now she needs to be placed in a home. Emily has no money and no job when she stumbles into an interview for a job she knows nothing about with a rock band she has never heard of. Noah (I cannot wait for his book, he might be my new book husband!) sees something in her that she doesn’t see in herself.

Then the tour starts…..
You think Emily might fall for Noah….
Clash, he watches, he notices…..
He shows up in her hotel room….
She sees something in him…
She feels something for him….
She helps calm him…
They talk…..
They start to fall….

"Connor was a gun. I was the ammunition. Put us together, and you got something lethal, a weapon capable of doing unspeakable things, more specifically to each other."

Emily and Clash start hooking up and, oh God, it is amazing. He is amazing. But when he realizes he is falling for her he epically fucks it all up. I mean there may be no coming back from what he does. He destroys Emily.

All with a song…..
He thinks he is saving her from him….

As they work their way back to each other, Emily finds more of herself. She becomes the woman she was meant to be with all the goodness of the girl she was.

And it is beautiful.

I cried and cheered.

I hope words come easy for Belle Aurora and her fingers can fly over the keys so we don’t have to wait too long for more of the men of Left Turn.

Recensione sulla mia pagina Bookstagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/CInxCdNHU...

I liked both the leads, more so the h, I'm not a big fan of H though, he makes a shitty rap that includes h in it and how wet and greedy she is and yuk... Later on I thought there would be atleast be hard core groveling. But no, the author inserted a scene where H gets addicted to drugs and h had to take him to rehab.

Instead of getting better, h changes her whole life, gone was her nanna, she just changed! Hair, attitude, looks, everything. I didn't like one bit of her after the change and from then on I hated the book. And then she is suddenly famous! Yeah she gets famous?! How? More importantly, why?

H is back from rehab, being a rock star, he keeps tagging h, who is now famous, fan starts shipping them, h's heart flutters and now she is confused whether or not she loves him.

He keeps tagging her, sending her message and then suddenly a week later she is in Love! Seriously, I just skipped through the book at the end, both irritated the heck out of me!

And most important, annoying as hell side characters! Would've at least rated it 3, if it wasn't for them!

***AVAILABLE NOW***

3 CROWNS

I have such mixed feelings about this one. There are parts I loved. In fact, I LOVED EVERY SINGLE BAND MEMBER. Every single one. In fact, I hope she makes it a series. I want each potential couple to have their HEA.

I also really enjoyed Clash and Emmy as a couple. I enjoyed the slow burn. I loved seeing them evolve into friends and seeing them fall in love with each other, although I expected Clash to be meaner or to have a more enemies to lovers vibe. They didn’t. He was pretty tame, and although I expected different, it didn’t make me love his character less. He was complex and flawed, and I loved him for that alone.

What I often felt like, though, was that I was missing pieces of the story. The big climax and blow up comes very early in the book, and it literally comes out of nowhere. Yes, I knew he would be upset with the actions of the previous night, but he went from 1 to 1 million and it threw me off. Then there was the drug addiction that was briefly mentioned now being a key part of the story and a plot device to solve the conflict. There was then another plot revelation thrown in with no clues laid, again seeming to come out of nowhere. And while I do love plot surprises, I do like to notice that there were clues laid out along the way. These just seemed to be thrown in to advance the story.

I loved the way Clash and Emmy loved each other, but after the explosion at around 50% then the falling action and resolution coming relatively early, the rest of the story fell flat for me. The mini-conflicts weren’t enough to hold my interest, and the ending felt dragged out to me. The only think that kept me reading was the love of the crew she created.

This is a one off for me. I love Belle Aurora’s books. I normally consume them all but this one‘s story line just missed the mark. If the areas would have been fleshed out a bit more or if there weren’t so many plot surprises that seemed to come out of left field, I would have really enjoyed this one.

This book went from a three-stars to two-stars and ended on four-stars.

Belle Aurora is one of my favorite authors, so I had to pick this one.
I loved the beginning. The characters are very well crafted.

Then, the hero does something awful (I'll not spoil anything but he then has to crawl his way back to the heroine - and I get how many readers would like this - a good groveling. But it was a turn off for me) The only reason I kept on reading was because this is Belle Aurora.

And then, I was threading on a 3-stars when nearly at the end, there's a little bullying scene that happens. I LOVED the way this author shows the bullying, the aftermath, and how it's tackled. It was m favorite part of the book.

Overall, it was a nice, entertaining book. If the rest of the characters are getting their books as well, I'll be reading <3

* Only the stara were showing but my review wasn't.what the hey, GRs??? Now it's here, read in January!!!

🎸Loved this one 💓

New author, favorite romance genre, recommended by a friend...say no more, I was downloading this book at 1am! Kept me up till the early morning hours, couldn't put it down.

I hope there is more to come from this Left Turn series because I am totally hooked on the story of these wonderful characters now and will need to know what happens as time rolls on.

Emily- could she have been any sweeter, geekier or more adorable? I don't think so! It was like she came from a different place than the rest of us, maybe she did. I loved the camaraderie that was instanious as the band took her under their collective wing like a cherished little sister. Except for maybe the bad boy, Connor Clash, who lived to tease, taunt and shock. It seemed that leaving his evening conquests with a tear in their eyes the next morning was par for the course in this man's world. Until a certain tiny thing crawled right under his skin before he knew what hit him! A moment of madness, all hell breaking loose with a vengeance and then everything changes in Left Turns world.

Curious? Love a great rockstar romance, angsty drama and a bad boy you might love to hate? An innocent sweetheart headed for corruption? A payback that strengthens one and almost destroys the other? Great characters popping in to enrich the tale around ever corner? Surprises that I didn't expect, a perfect ending for two imperfect people. Well, if any of these things tickle your fancy, this might be the book for you. Joy and sorrow live together in Clash along with a full range of emotions in between. I loved it!
