Tom Meyers (1970) was born in Antwerp, Belgium. After his training to become a chef, he wanted to improve his English and decided to go and work in England for a few months as a waiter. He only returned back to Belgium 8 years later. In this time he not only worked in various luxury hotels as a waiter but travelled also extensively around the world and worked as a waiter and sommelier on Cunard’s’ flagship the ‘Queen Elisabeth II’ for 2,5 years.

At 28 he returned home and followed the advise of a friend to start his own business, a gourmet deli. This failed however and lead him into an existential crisis.
