VR Device Challenges in Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero features four distinct VR Device challenges: Combat Simulation, Driver Validation, Expert Challenge, and Reckless Challenge. Each challenge offers unique rewards tailored to meet various in-game needs.

Combat Simulation

Combat Simulation is a key area where you can farm for essential upgrade materials. These materials are crucial for promoting Agents, modifying W-Engines, and enhancing character skills. The rewards you receive are determined by the enemy lineup within the simulation.

Combat Simulation offers four modes, each providing different materials:

• Basic Materials
• Agent Promotion
• Agent Skill Enhancement
• W-Engine Modification

Additionally, Proxies can create custom simulations to obtain multiple materials simultaneously.

Driver Validation

Driver Validation is the primary challenge for farming Drive Discs, which are essential for building character stats. You can also acquire Plating Agents used for upgrading these discs through Driver Validation challenges.

For those focused on building their Agents effectively, completing Driver Validation challenges is essential.

Expert Challenge

Expert Challenges combine elements of Combat Simulation and Reckless Challenge. These challenges feature elite enemy units with higher stats and greater difficulty.

Drops from Expert Challenges are used to upgrade core Agent skills, making them a critical component for advanced character development.

Reckless Challenge

Reckless Challenges pit you against formidable boss units with extremely high stats. These bosses pose a significant threat if you’re not adequately prepared.

Materials from Reckless Challenges are used to advance Agent skills to their highest levels. Note that you can only participate in Reckless Challenges three times per week.

VR Training Mode

The VR Device’s Training Mode includes two modes: Free Training and Agent Academy. Free Training allows you to practice without time constraints, while Agent Academy offers rewards and teaches essential combat mechanics like Perfect Dodges and Perfect Assists. It also allows you to practice the unique abilities of the characters you own and test out featured banner characters.

The VR Device in Zenless Zone Zero provides a variety of challenges to farm resources necessary for character and equipment improvements. Specific materials drop from certain enemies, so selecting the right enemies for your challenge gauntlet is key to acquiring the materials you need.

Unlocking Enemy Cards in Hollow Zero

New enemy cards for the VR Device can be unlocked by encountering them first in Hollow Zero. These enemy cards range from different difficulties. Since rewards depend on the enemies you face, unlocking new enemy cards is crucial for obtaining the resources needed for new Agents, Disc Drives, or W-Engines.

Managing Battery Charges

Battery Charges are the primary resource for farming in Zenless Zone Zero, recharging over time, just like Genshin Impact’s Resins. Once depleted, you must wait for them to refresh before farming again. There are also methods to accelerate the recharge of Battery Charges using specific resources.
