Koleda Overview

Koleda is one of the Fire characters with role. Koleda is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.

Koleda Build is included in this guide, you can jump to Koleda Build Here.

Koleda Mechansim

Koleda is the best stun character in the current Zenless Zone Zero 1.0 version, with a fire attribute. She can rapidly stack the enemy’s Daze meter by chaining the last hit of her 2/4-hit Basic Attack combo with her Special Skill , causing the enemy to enter a Daze state. Additionally, using the[Ex Special Skill alone will have a recovery time, so it is most cost-effective to combine it with regular attacks. This changes the pattern of her Basic Attack combo and significantly enhances her ability to induce Daze and deal damage.

In the current version, core skills are the focal points for every Rank S character. Teaming up with characters of the same attribute or faction will have different impacts on your future gameplay experience.

Koleda Key Mindscapes

Koleda’s Mindscapes Comparison

The % indicates the Daze Efficiency of the Mindscape to the previous Mindscape (For M1, it is compared to no Mindscape).

No Data Found

M1: When the detonation is connected after the second stage of normal attacks or the enhanced normal attack, the Daze value increases by 15%. Mindscape 1 is very straightforward, being a purely numerical Mindscape. As long as we remember to use the mechanism of connecting detonations to release EX Special, we can steadily benefit from this Mindscape. This Mindscape improves Koleda’s overall performance by approximately 6%.

M2: When EX Special hits an enemy, Koleda recovers 60 energy, which can be triggered once every 45 seconds. Since Koleda’s EX Special consumes exactly 60 energy, M2 basically equates to having the opportunity to use EX Special continuously every 45 seconds. Every time M2 is triggered, you can use EX Special one more time along with its ‘Furnace Fire’. This significantly enhances the experience, especially in practical scenarios against single bosses, providing about a 10% increase in performance. However, it’s important to note that this energy recovery requires EX Special to hit; if the cooldown is ready but there is not enough energy to release EX Special, you will need to wait for energy recovery, which can cause some time wastage. But this loss is minimal, and overall, M2 is still excellent.

M4: When consuming ‘Furnace Fire’ to perform an enhanced normal attack, Koleda gains one layer of charge limit. When two layers of Chain or Ult hit an enemy, all charges are consumed, and each layer increases the damage of the current move by 18%. M4 is also a very straightforward numerical Mindscape, directly increasing the damage of Chain and Ult. However, since Koleda doesn’t get many opportunities to use Ult, this boost mainly benefits Chain. Considering the total damage contribution of Chain is relatively low, the numerical increase provided by M4 is limited.

M6: When EX Special, Chain, or Ult triggers an explosion and hits an enemy, it deals additional damage equal to 360% of Koleda’s ATK. M6 is equivalent to adding a multiplier of 360% ATK to EX Special, Chain, or Ult. This multiplier significantly boosts Koleda’s DMG by about 17%. Although it’s not enough to make Koleda’s DMG catch up with other Attack-type characters, it is enough to change Koleda’s positioning, making her a character with decent damage and very high Daze efficiency.

Koleda Best W-Engine

The percentage indicates the Daze Efficiency comparison relative to the W-engine marked with 100%.

Koleda’s main role is to provide Daze, so it’s best to choose those that enhance her Impact and Energy Regen. The optimal W-engine choice is Hellfire Gears, which can provide Koleda with high Energy Regen efficiency and Impact boost, along with a certain degree of Fire DMG bonus. These attributes perfectly meet Koleda’s needs, making it a very suitable choice. The Restrained can also be used if you don’t have Hellfire Gears.

For A-grade W-engines, Demara is recommended, as it can also improve Impact, and its active effect can provide Energy Regen, making it the best option for Koleda apart from Hellfire Gears. If you can’t get Steam Oven, you can use the battle pass’s W-engine – Six Shooter or Prescious Fossilied Core as a substitute.

In the early stages, you can use B-grade W-engines [Vortex] Arrow. It can consistently enhance Koleda’s Daze efficiency, making them very compatible with her role as a Stun provider.

Crit Rate = Crit DMG > ATK% > PEN > ATK

Sub Stats

Regarding Disk Drives, it is recommended to use the set of 4 pcs Shockstar Disco & 2 pcs Inferno Metal. Make sure to first farm the 4 pcs Shockstar Disco set, as it can significantly enhance Koleda’s Daze efficiency. The 2 pcs set bonus provides Fire DMG bonus, which is of lower priority since Koleda’s damage contribution is low.

For main stats, Slot 4 is recommended to have Crit Rate or Crit DMG, Slot 5 is Fire DMG Bonus, and #6 is Energy Regen. Since EX Special is Koleda’s primary means of causing Daze, ensuring Koleda has enough energy to release EX Special is the top priority. Therefore, when selecting Disk Drives for Koleda, only Slot 6 must have Energy Regen, while Slot 4 and Slot 5 can initially use any main stats, and it’s advised to save resources for the Main DPS.

For sub stats, since there is no Impact or Energy Regen, you can only consider stacking Crit Rate/Crit DMG, ATK, and PEN. In the early stages, when resources are limted, it is not recommended to farm for perfect sub stats.

Koleda Team

Koleda Pure Fire Team

The combination of Koleda and Ben is a core, as the overall boost from coordinated attacks is incredibly significant for Koleda. If you have Ben, make sure to include him.

For the remaining slot, we choose Soldier 11 to supplement the team’s DMG output, creating a all-rounded system with Daze, Burst, and Survival.

For Bangboo, choose Rocketboo to enhance the team’s Fire attribute accumulation efficiency, helping Soldier 11 consistently trigger her team passive and the 4 pcs Inferno Metal set bonus during the Daze period.

When Koleda is on-field and lacks the energy to release the next EX Special, you can switch to Ben at the end of the Basic Attack. After switching, Ben should use a Basic Attack for animation-cancel and then perform the first two stages of his Ex Special if he has enough energy. If not, execute one or two Dash Attacks. While Ben is attacking, use Defensive Assist to switch back to Koleda and start a new rotation. After the enemy is Dazed, ensure Soldier 11’s Chain is the last to be used. During the Daze period, Soldier 11 can use her Ult and EX Special for Burst, followed by one or two sets of Fire Basic Attacks until the enemy recovers from Daze.

In this team, Soldier 11 isn’t closely tied to the other two characters except that she is a Fire attribute character, enabling her team passive, and her solo damage is sufficient. This is why we chose her. Additionally, there isn’t a better fit among the current Attack-type characters for the Koleda and Ben, making the Pure Fire team our top team recommendation.

If Soldier 11 isn’t available, we can choose Nekomata or Corin as alternatives. The overall damage of the team won’t significantly drop, with Nekomata leaning more towards AoE improvement and Corin towards single target. Overall, both characters are good substitutes for Soldier 11.

Koleda Ellen-Core Team

Besides teaming up with Ben, Koleda can also operate independently due to her excellent Daze capability. This is a common team-building strategy for Stun-type characters. When Koleda joins other teams as a Stun role, the other two team members must provide sufficient damage. Since Koleda has less means to avoid damage, it’s crucial to frequently switch characters during battles, necessitating that the other two team members have no survival issues. The best current choice is Soukaku and Ellen. For Bangboo, Sharkboo or Butlet is recommended. In this team composition, the combination of Soukaku and Ellen excels in both Single Target and AoE capabilities, and Koleda providing ample Daze efficiency can form a very strong team.

However, Koleda isn’t the optimal choice here; she is a substitute for Lycaon. This doesn’t mean Koleda’s Daze efficiency is inferior to Lycaon’s, but Lycaon not only matches Koleda’s Daze efficiency but is also an Ice character, allowing the team to trigger Freezing more frequently. In other words, when Koleda replaces Lycaon in this team, the overall experience won’t decline, except for the reduced frequency of Freezing.

Other ZZZ Character Builds

As the only pure ranged character among the initial three characters, Billy’s core gameplay involves simple operation, flexible movements, and maintaining a safe distance from strong enemies. Billy’s combo is unique; the second half of his crouching shot can be infinitely extended by holding the Basic Attack button. Billy’s mechanism also increases the damage of this crouching shot. The output logic is straightforward, but the performance in terms of damage is quite poor, making Billy a character with a low ceiling, not suitable for extreme damage output challenges. However, with an extremely low operation difficulty and safe attack distance, Billy can still be a character to rely on during difficult stages.

Pros

  • Simple operation
  • Fully ranged character

Cons

  • Very low damage

Anton’s unique mechanism allows him to trigger an additional 45% Shock damage every 5 critical hits while in Burst mode. Placing Anton after a strong buildup character like Grace, the extra damage from his direct attacks combiness with addional Shock DMG. This mechanism enables Anton to carry the damage output for the Shock team, achieving high damage in a short time, making him a short-cycle Electric burst DPS.

Pros

  • Triggers additional Shock DMG

Cons

  • Relies on Ex Special
  • Target must be shocked to maximize damage

Corin’s damage output style fully leverages the advantages of the Daze mechanism. Her extremely high Ex Special damage multiplier is even surpassing the ultimates of most characters. This single-skill advantage makes her the best short-cycle physical burst main DPS among the current A Rank characters. From a multiplier perspective, Corin’s skills are all excellent, but her damage output is too slow and overly reliant on energy, making her effective mainly during the imbalance period for bursts.

Pros

  • Excellent skill multiplier

Cons

  • Too reliant on Ex Special
  • Slow damage action
