Zombie Borghen is a boss in Final Fantasy II. It is Borghen, returning as a monster-in-a-box zombie to attack Firion and his party once more as they venture through the Pandaemonium.
In versions of the game with Soul of Rebirth, Minwu's party will also encounter and fight this version of Borghen. While exploring the tunnel, Minwu finds Josef being tortured by Borghen's soul. Recognizing Josef, Minwu and Scott decide to help.

Battle[]
Though he is a good deal more powerful than the first time he attacked the party, Zombie Borghen is not a fearsome opponent. When compared to the other four bosses found in the Pandaemonium—Astaroth, Beelzebub, Tiamat, and the Emperor—he is somewhat weaker. He has little HP, his Attack and Defense stats are merely average, and he uses low-level spells.
Strategy[]
Borghen's low HP and lack of exceptional Defense means he will fall easily to even basic attacks. Do not have the Blood Sword equipped, as it will heal Zombie Borghen. While his extremely high Magic Defense will make it nearly impossible for spells like Toad or Life to defeat him, a Fire spell at a sufficient level and Intelligence can annihilate him with one cast.
While comparatively tougher in Soul of Rebirth, Borghen is still a simple foe. Minwu should start off with Blink and use Cure either on the party or Borghen, while Scott should cast Fire.
Etymology[]
zombie is an animated corpse resurrected by mystical means, such as necromancy. Since the late 19th century, zombies have acquired popularity in North American and European folklore.
