Toad (Final Fantasy V status)

Toad is a status in Final Fantasy V. Toad-afflicted party members cannot cast most spells (only Toad and Pond's Chorus) and their attack is pitiful—but may also inflict toad on their target. Toad-afflicted characters have different sprites for the battle screen and the field map. Different jobs result in different colored toads for the status for party members.

The formula for how the toad status works is as follows:

• Defense = 0, Evade% = 0, Magic Defense = 0
• ${\displaystyle Damage = (3 - Target~Defense) \times M}$
• ${\displaystyle M=(Strength\times Level)/128+2orMonster~Attack~Multiplier}$

These are the same stat changes as for mini. Toad does not wear off during KO.

Zombie status makes one immune to toad, but also flags the afflicted as defeated for Game Over purposes.

The following enemies are immune to Toad. All bosses are immune except Carbuncle (Healing), Dragon Flower, Ice Commander, Iron Claw, and Twintania (Charging).
