Moogle Coin (モグコイン, Mogukoin?, lit. Mog Coin), also referred as a Mog Coin, is a recurring item in the Final Fantasy series.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy Dimensions[]

Moogle Coin is a special item, there are two Moogles that collect Moogle Coins. One can be found inside Moogle Cave and the other appears in the Gladiators' Hall. Exchanging one of this item grants the entire party three JP, which is used to increase a party member's maximum job level in the chosen vocation (up to a maximum job level of 20).

Moogle Coins can be obtained more often after the game is cleared, by defeating Gigantuar in the Gladiators' Hall, and the amount obtained upon being victorious is randomized from as low as one to a maximum of three Moogle Coins.

Prior to Gladiator's Hall, there are ten Moogle Coins that can be obtained in Chapter 4. Their locations are as follows:

Non-Final Fantasy appearances[]

Kingdom Hearts[]

Mog Coins (or "Medals") appear in the browser-based Kingdom Hearts χ as silver coins with a moogle's face stamped on the center. They are used to purchase specific cards and rewards from the Mog Shop, and are rewarded for earning Lux or as a staple reward of special events.

Etymology[]

The moogle's Japanese name, Mōguri (モーグリ), is a portmanteau of the words for mole (土竜, mogura?) and bat (蝙蝠, kōmori?). "Moogle" is the localized version of Mōguri, losing the pun, though "moogle" has started to appear in Japanese sources as well.
