Description
Body Temp is a support ability in Final Fantasy IX that every permanent party member can learn. It prevents Freeze and Heat statuses from taking effect for the cost of 4 Magic Stones.

Body Temp is learned from numerous equipment pieces for variable amounts of AP; Vivi learns it the fastest at 15 AP, while Steiner learns it the slowest at 35 AP. Equipping multiple equipment pieces that all teach Body Temp, masters the ability faster.
Body Temp is learned from numerous equipment pieces, but one the easiest and the earliest is from the Fairy Earrings and the Diamond, as the player can find the former in Fossil Roo, and the latter in the kirkboat in Conde Petie. The player can also get a free Madain's Ring from the mining minigame in Fossil Roo, though finding it can be tough.

With Body Temp, the character cannot freeze or heat up from enemy attacks. It is highly useful against enemies that use these statuses, as they are some of the more hazardous status ailments, able to defeat the party if they take effect. Some good places for wearing Body Temp include the battle against Soulcage, Mount Gulug, Ipsen's Castle, the final dungeon, and the final battle.
