Bismarck is an esper in Final Fantasy VI who can be acquired as a magicite.
Profile[]
Bismarck is a large, white or light blue, whale-like creature.
Story[]
Bismarck was one of several espers captured by the Gestahlian Empire during their first raid on the esper world. The captive espers were taken to the Magitek Research Facility at Vector, and for sixteen years they were experimented on and had their magic drained to develop the Empire's Magitek army.
When the Returners infiltrated the facility and shut down the machinery draining the espers, they were too late to save them. With too much of their energy drained, they transformed into magicite and entrusted themselves to the Returners.
Gameplay[]
Bismarck costs 50 MP to summon. Its ability, Breach Blast (Sea Song in the Super NES and PlayStation versions), deals Water-elemental damage to all opponents. Its Spell Power is 58, and it is unblockable. Its level up bonus is +2 Strength.
Bismarck is useful for stat training, as the other magicites that give +2 Strength are acquired much later into the game.
Spells[]
Bismarck's usefulness for teaching magic is dubious, as by the time the player acquires its his magicite, they have easy access to the tier-two versions of the offensive spells it teaches, and it teaches Raise far slower than other espers. Teaching a party member Bismarck's spells can be a detriment in the Coliseum, as they add to the random pool of actions the character may take and will usually be a waste of their turn.
Other appearances[]
Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]
Bismarck is the Rank 3 Water-elemental magicite boss in Record Keeper. Reflecting its spells learned in Final Fantasy VI, it is able to cast the tier one and tier two fire, ice, and lightning spells, and can use the water-elemental Breach Blast, as well as Savage Breach Blast that ignores Resistance.
Bismarck's magicite bears the passive abilities Dampen Water and Resistance Boon, raising the party's resistance to water attacks and their Resistance. When summoned it uses Ultra Breach Blast to deal water-elemental damage to all enemies and grants the party a barrier that blocks the next fire-elemental attack against them. Its normal attacks are Lunge, Watera, and Breach Blast.
