Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Des mots qui sonnent (song) → Des mots qui sonnent (move · discuss) – Dabpage not needed, per WP:ONEOTHER 162 etc. (talk) 05:38, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- This isn't really uncontroversial. If the album is known as Des mots qui sonnent in some areas, and the song is also titled that, then it's a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC consideration. If there isn't a primary topic (which is quite plausible, as this wasn't I don't think a particularly major song) then the disambiguation page is correct per WP:TWODABS. — Amakuru (talk) 08:53, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- In fact, if anything the album is the primary topic. If we look at page views in 2021 (the last time the song was stably at its current title, rather than merged in with a different song Nothing Can Stop My Love) we see that the album has around 8x the page views of the song: [1]. There's a case for making the base title a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the album. — Amakuru (talk) 09:17, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

- Kannada people (currently a redirect to Kannadigas) → Kannadiga (currently a redirect instead to Kannadigas) (move · discuss) – "Kannadiga" is the more commonly term used for native Kannada speakers tracing their ancestry to Karnataka. Most sources available in the article also use the term "Kannadiga" instead of "Kannada people". At present, Kannadiga is a redirect to Kannada people. I propose that Kannada people be moved to Kannadiga. Dympies (talk) 03:00, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Dympies: In 2012 this was moved in the opposite direction, so this is a potentially controversial move WP:PCM. You can open a requested move by pressing "discuss" in your request. After that, or if you do not want to continue, you can remove this technical request. SilverLocust 💬 04:57, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
