Jean-Pol Fargeau is a French screenwriter and frequent collaborator of director Claire Denis. With Denis, he co-wrote Chocolat (1988),[1] Beau Travail, and 35 Shots of Rum[2] and Bastards[3] among others. As of 2015, Fargeau and Denis are writing their first English-language film with novelist Zadie Smith and Smith's husband, novelist and poet Nick Laird; the film is a science-fiction piece set in space.[4]

Fargeau has also collaborated with fashion designer Agnès B. to write the 2014 film My Name is Hmmm.[5]
