Starcom Network began as Barbados Rediffusion limited with the introduction of the first broadcast station there in 1935 using a wired system it was known as subscription radio it was the only radio station until thefirst wireles radio station CBC 900 am was started in 1963.Subscribers used to pay on a monthly bases the recievers were a speaker connected to wiresfrom poles from the studio.The presenters were Alfred Pragnell,Olga lopes seles ,Maurice novell,Ellis and etc.It broadcasted from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm. Then it expanded the people liked it a lot due tothe excellent programming like the soap operas of the day.Sadly it closed on November 30 1997.Then 790 am was introduced in 1981 as the Barbados second wireless station.The station first fm station and Barbados first 24 hour station yess 104.1 fm now known as love fm.Hott fm started on December 1 1997 as its second fm station by the company.The company also started selling tv and other electronic items for consumers.Then the company started direct tv service.It changed to starcom in 1999.It is located on Harbour road Bridgetown St Michael Barbados West Indies.
