Friends kidnap Lance on his wedding day, determined to 'cure' him of his homosexuality. Terry tries to prove his suspicions that brother Ben is a child abuser, while no-nonsense new DC Jo Masters arrives at Sun Hill to defuse the tension between Jack and Neil - but proves to be their worst nightmare.

Ramani and Suzie join forces in a bid to find out whether Terry's brother Ben has been abusing his son, while Honey attempts to deal with an emergency at St Hugh's hospital, only to find herself staring down the barrel of a gun. Back at the station, Jack resolves to give Jo the benefit of the doubt - unlike Neil, who continues to seethe over her arrival.

The siege at the hospital takes a turn for the worse as Jack and Neil are taken hostage at gunpoint after an abortive attempt to free Roger. Jo takes charge of the delicate negotiations, while Steve realises only he can save Honey. Elsewhere, Samantha is appalled to learn Abi is carrying Hugh Wallis's baby and Terry begins to doubt whether his brother is guilty of the child abuse charges.

Sam feels trapped in a never-ending nightmare when a confrontation with Abi leads to yet another revelation - she intends to marry her erstwhile kidnapper Hugh. Turning to Phil for help, Samantha hatches a plan to snatch her pregnant, brainwashed daughter from the psychopath's clutches. Two community Support Officers are assigned to Sun Hill, where they are greeted by a contemptuous outburst from Smithy.

Hugh Wallis turns the tables on Sam by dropping in at Sun Hill and accusing her of abducting her own daughter. As the tug of love moves toward a dramatic conclusion, Sam desperately tries to make Abi realise she has been brainwashed - and Meadows isn't as supportive as he might be. Elsewhere, Scott Burnett's wife is found murdered.

Suzie and Jo investigate a case involving rent boys and pornography. Meadows organises a raid on the home of DAC Pearson, Manson's father-in-law. Sam stuggles to prove that Hugh Wallis abducted, brainwashed and raped her daughter. Honey tells Steve about her unprofessional behaviour with Scott Burnett.

Sheelagh and Leela investigate a man accused of deliberately infecting women with HIV. Leela suspects Sheelagh of racism. Lance and Roger discover the decomposing body of a vagrant, identified as Jim's ex-wife Marie. Manson is forced to accept that his father-in-law has been using the services of rent boys.

Sheelagh and Leela investigate the suspicious death of a baby. Honey and Amber fight over Steve's affections. Honey sleeps with Scott Burnett after he is accused of murdering his wife. Manson is upset after he catches Andrea kissing Smithy, and confronts her about who she really wants.

Phil and Gary go undercover to trap a drug dealer. Amber tries to console her best childhood friend when she is raped. Honey breaks off her relationship with Steve. Manson promises to leave his wife for Andrea. Phil is forced to attend sex addiction classes by his wife.

June returns to duty to help pay off Jim's gambling debts. Gary is duped into assisting in a money-laundering operation. Andrea acts as a decoy to trap unlicensed cab drivers, and rejects propositions from Manson and Smithy. Phil contines to prove to his wife that he is not addicted to sex.

Jo helps Gary to trap the con artist who tricked him into laundering money for her. Roger deals with a gang of rowdy schoolgirls and is accused of indecent assault. Andrea is determined to remain under cover and promises her editor a scoop on a blue-on-blue murder.

Andrea investigates Gabriel and uncovers a possible link with the Sun Hill sniper. Smithy tells her that June is Gabriel's mother. Manson sees Andrea with her editor and assumes that she is the Sun Hill mole. Leela and Amber take the response level driving course at Hendon.

Manson tells Andrea to resign, but her editor decides to run with his story, exposing Andrea as an undercover journalist. Smithy Smith reprimands Colin for his racist attitude. Sam gives evidence at the trial of serial rapist and is accused of securing a confession by means of psychological torture. Leela and Amber are to take their response level driving test exam.

After his dismissal for being racist, Colin kidnaps Ken and locks him in the back of a delivery van, before driving it into the front of the station. When Marilyn answers her phone in the front office, the sparks from the phone cause an explosion. As the front of the station collapses around them, Gabriel looks over a trapped Andrea, as he leaves her to die, taking his sordid secrets with her. However, he is soon commended a hero when he saves Smithy from imminent death.

As the firecrew wade through the aftermath of the explosion, Okaro confirms that the explosion claimed the lives of Ken, Andrea and Marilyn. Reg and Neil find comfort in each other as they reminisce about the time they spent with each of their loved ones. Jim suspects June is having an affair with Roger, and Gina suspects that Gabriel's actions may not be as clear cut as they seem.

Jim is determined to save his marriage to June, and the pair meet to discuss their relationship. However, when June arrives at the pub with Roger in tow, Jim issues a harsh warning. The pair are subsequently sidelined when they are forced to deal with a squabbling couple, leading Jim into the realisation that he has served his time at Sun Hill. Jim decides to start a new life far away from London.

With nothing but a bottle of scotch and a run-down sofa, Jim reminisces his twenty-two year career at Sun Hill. He discusses the events of his first day, where he arrived late at work due to a dodgy alarm clock, his two different stints working in CID, his return to uniform, and his gambling debts which nearly cost him his life.

The officers of Sun Hill are still in a state of shock following the explosion. MIT and the anti-terrorism squad arrive to investigate, while Tony looks into a link between ex-PCSO Colin Fairfax and a local extremist group. Roger and Amber are called out to facilitate a social worker's access to a young child. Ramani and Terry get involved when they discover that the father has a conviction for sex with a minor. Gabiel is hailed as a hero, and June adjusts to life without Jim.

The trail of evidence against Colin Fairfax leads Jack and Jo to a potentially explosive confrontation with him in a lock-up garage full of petrol cans. Yvonne gets wind of Scott's romantic entanglement with Honey and confides in Steve regarding her suspicions about his cool reaction to the news of his wife's murder. Serial rapist Alan Kennedy demands an interview with Sam.

The spectre of racial unrest looms over Sun Hill following a number of assaults on the Muslim community, allegedly committed by white youths. Leela persuades her father to tell the police he witnessed an Asian man carry out one of the attacks. As the three officers killed in the explosion are laid to rest, Neil arouses his wife's suspicions by attending Andrea's funeral.

Leela urges her hospitalised father to make a statement about his attackers, and is warned her own life is in danger - which only increases her determination to pursue the case to the bitter end. Jo goes on the trail of a violent pimp and offers a local prostitute the chance to become a police informant, while Gabriel shows his compassionate side by protecting a little girl he suspects is being abused. Honey brushes aside Yvonne's concerns about her engagement to Scott, putting it down to jealousy - unaware of Yvonne's budding romance with A&E nurse Nick.

Gina faces the ultimate test of character when she learns she has cervical cancer, but is determined to maintain her hard-as-nails demeanour in public. Leela considers leaving the force when it becomes apparent that the chances of convicting drug dealer Salim Haq are slim, while Jo's investigation into a rival villain uncovers ominous evidence of gang warfare. Elsewhere, Gabriel sets out to prove schoolgirl Gemma Bentley is being abused by her stepmother - and finds an ally in Sheelagh.

Gina continues to keep the news of her cancer a closely guarded secret, little suspecting Amber has put two and two together after spotting her at the hospital. Gabriel rescues schoolgirl Gemma Bentley from the clutches of her wicked stepmother and is rewarded with a passionate kiss from Sheelagh, while Steve confronts Scott about the investigation into his wife's murder - and is given an ominous warning.

Gina warns Amber not to tell a soul about her cancer, but any hopes of keeping her illness secret are dashed when she's prescribed a course of daily radiotherapy. Scott reacts badly to the news that Greg's murder charges have been dropped, and Lance's latest assignment on the Cole Lane Estate proves something of a damp squib. Gabriel gives Sheelagh the brush-off, while Reg isn't quite sure what to make of Sun Hill's eager new receptionist Julian Tavell, known as JT.

Honey can't bring herself to contemplate the terrifying prospect that fiance Scott might have murdered his first wife, despite Yvonne and Steve's suspicions that there might be something to Greg's allegations. Lance tries to get the Cole Lane Estate's teenage population interested in cricket, hoping to bridge the generation gap and recruit informers at the same time, but his best efforts are jeopardised when Gary sets up a bungled drugs bust.

PC Dan Casper arrives at Sun Hill, and immediately risks life and limb to rescue a girl attempting to kill herself on a dual carriageway. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, the case has a tragic ending. Scott manipulates Honey into setting a date for their wedding, and Gina tells Smithy she's suffering from cancer, while Gary makes himself unpopular by criticising the boys in uniform.

JT unwittingly puts a woman's life in jeopardy by sending her to the house of serial rapist Alan Kennedy, forcing Samantha and Terry to abandon a covert surveillance operation and rush to her rescue. Reg and Tony arrest two squabbling burglars and Smithy urges Gina to give up smoking, while Ramani is astounded to overhear Margaret and Roger discussing her love life - or lack of one.

Ramani is convinced someone at the station was responsible for the hoax call to her ex-boyfriend, but Roger is sceptical and begins to worry about her state of mind. Lance and Sheelagh's drugs investigation on the Cole Lane Estate takes an ugly turn when an elderly man is attacked and suspicion falls on two local dealers - one of whom is subsequently shot dead. Serial rapist Alan Kennedy is assaulted by a friend of his first victim and responds by making a chilling phone call to Samantha.

Mickey Webb, now working with the National Crime Squad, returns to Sun Hill and tells Jack he suspects Neil has ensured the silence of a key witness in a major money laundering trial. Alan Kennedy sets a trap for Samantha, luring her to a deserted warehouse and holding her at knifepoint, while Ramani's suspicions about Margaret grow after a witness statement goes missing.

Neil's world begins to collapse around his ears when his meeting with a key witness in the money laundering trial is followed by her attempted kidnapping. Already paranoid after discovering a bug in his house and an intruder rummaging through his rubbish, the confused copper begins to wonder if somebody's trying to frame him - and his suspicions are confirmed when he's beaten up, drugged and awakes to find himself next to a murdered man.

As Neil is hauled into custody on a murder charge, mutual mistrust begins to brew between the Sun Hill regulars and the National Crime Squad team led by Mickey Webb. Ever resourceful, Neil pretends to have hard evidence that a corrupt copper is responsible for his predicament - deliberately provoking an attempt on his own life as a way of proving his innocence.

Margaret falls down a flight of stairs during a tussle with an increasingly harassed Ramani, who has become convinced she's being stalked. Neil returns to Sun Hill, and Yvonne agrees to a date with nurse Nick, only to leave him in the lurch. Samantha and Terry find themselves in a room full of venomous snakes, while Gina faces an ordeal of a different kind as she prepares to start chemotherapy.

Gary investigates the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl and discovers she lied about her age. At his urging, the accused confess to sex, hoping to be treated leniently - only to end up facing a possible life sentence. Scott is arrested for murdering his wife, while Ramani is interrogated by Adam and Gina about events leading up to Margaret's fall - and suffers the added trauma of learning Roger has accused her of deliberately causing the incident.

Gina tries to quell suspicion about her unexplained absences by going on the beat with Amber and Dan - only to be punched hard in the stomach by a suspect. Smithy reprimands Margaret and Roger for gossiping about Ramani's state of mind, and Honey prepares to lie on Scott's behalf in a bid to get him out of jail. Lance pledges to leave no stone unturned in his quest to secure incriminating evidence against gangster Adi Mateen.

Okaro reminisces about events of the past ten years, including the two Sun Hill fires, Kerry Young getting shot, and a stalker who set fire to June Ackland's flat in 1995. This episode was due to air on 27 April 2005 at 9:00pm, but due to unforeseen events in London that day, was cancelled to make way for a breaking news bulletin. Was never rescheduled, and as such, remains unaired in the United Kingdom to this day. The episode was aired in Australia in 2008, at 12:40am in the morning.

Gabriel and Sheelagh put their kiss behind them and work as a team, while Honey's wedding day ends in a brawl, forcing the registrar to abandon the ceremony. Smithy frets over Gina's refusal to take things easy, and Adam suffers a personal tragedy, leaving him racked with guilt at putting his job before the demands and responsibilities of family life.

Jack officially opens the newly rebuilt station, while Adam's grief at the loss of his entire family in a fatal car crash is compounded by suggestions that his wife Denise drove through a red light while talking on her mobile phone. Phil tempts fate by flirting with Samantha, while Suzie monitors a recently released child abuser, but makes the mistake of contacting his daughter - who is so distressed that she attempts suicide shortly afterwards.

Adam loses his cool when he confronts the other driver over the death of his wife and children. Meanwhile, Ramani becomes increasingly concerned when she fears that she is being set-up, and Suzie begins to doubt herself when one of the girls involved in the case of child abuse dies from a drug overdose.

Terry races to Ramani's house, where an unbalanced Margaret is planning to commit suicide - only to be stabbed and critically injured while attempting to wrest a knife from her. Smithy takes JT to task for spreading gossip around the station, while Dan and Tony try to track down an inventive graffiti artist who uses cleaning products to produce negative images on dirty walls around Sun Hill.

Margaret is taken to hospital, where a nurse realises that the blood on her clothes is not consistent with her wounds. Ramani realises Terry has been stabbed and rushes home to find him bleeding to death. Lance and Laura continue to help a delinquent's mother who has been beaten up by her son. They track Tomlin to a local pool hall, where they are taken aback to see Okaro apparently buying drugs from Adi Mateen. Sam is impressed by Phil's uncharacteristic chivalry while working on a case, and asks if he'd like to get together with her socially. Unfortunately, their date is ruined by the reappearance of a figure from his past.

Okaro attends the funeral of his wife, son and daughter, where he is comforted by Gina, who goes on to compound his distress by telling him that she has cancer. Lance and Laura continue to try to help local delinquent Jordan Tomlin. Lance is concerned when he discovers Okaro hasn't handed in the drugs package he received from local drug dealer Adi Mateen. Phil and Sam investigate the theft of a laptop containing sexually explicit material. Sam seems to have cooled towards Phil, who confides in his brother Steve about Kate Maltby's pregnancy.

Sam confronts Phil about Kate's pregnancy. Phil then attacks his younger brother Steve, accusing him of betraying a confidence. Okaro and Gina have a heart-to-heart discussion, but she is sure he's hiding something. Gabriel and Sheelagh work together on a harassment case involving Gabriel's fancy woman. Drug dealer Adi Mateen is forced to reveal his true identity in a desperate bid to save Lance from being shot by Jordan Tomlin.

Undercover new DC Zain Nadir is certain that his cover has not been blown, and Okaro authorises him to meet drug dealer Joshua Armstrong. The intervention of an armed motorcycle passenger threatens to cut short the entire investigation. Honey returns from honeymoon and confides in Yvonne about a storage unit hired by Scott. Yvonne finds a bloody glove, fuelling suspicions that he killed his first wife. Phil is furious with his brother for telling Kate about his daughter Madison.

Dan has a humiliating run-in with three yobs and later tries to save face by telling Amber that they had threatened him with a knife. At the end of the shift, he seeks solace in the arms of new drugs referral officer Rochelle Barratt. Honey confronts Scott, who breaks down and admits to killing his first wife Karen. She implores him to turn himself in, but when the police arrive at their house, the couple are nowhere to be seen.

Morell investigates the apparent abduction of Honey by Scott, but she has fled with him of her own volition and they are preparing to set sail for France. Yvonne and Tony arrest a thie, but Yvonne leaves herself open to charges of using excessive force. Amber teases Dan about his run-in with the gang.

There is an enquiry into Yvonne's use of her asp on Lee Thomas, who dies from his injuries. Okaro interviews Honey, who insists that she was abducted by Scott. Dan confesses to Gina that Amber has been blackmailing him. Amber lets slip to Julian that the inspector has cancer.

Honey is allowed to retract her resignation. Scott tries to kill himself in prison. Yvonne is suspended from duty, pending investigation into the death of Lee Thomas, causing uncertainty among the relief as to what constitutes reasonable force when apprehending a suspect. Leela is accused of assault, while Tony hesitates to use his asp and is beaten severely. Zain agrees to a stint with Sun Hill CID before his next undercover job.

Tony is in hospital recovering from a savage beating, Yvonne has been suspended over the death of a suspect and Gabriel and Roger are reprimanded for using CS spray. There is confusion in the relief about the use of reasonable force and June calls for strike action. Meadows orders DZain to remain deskbound following a death threat, but he goes on an operation with Lance and they find themselves held at gunpoint by a local gangster. Phil discovers that Kate might have lost their baby. Dan receives a letter in the internal mail which confirms that someone knows about his affair with Rochelle.

June leads a short-lived rebellion over the suspension of Yvonne. Okaro tries to defuse the threat of strike action by the relief, reminding them of their duties as police officers and offering to let Yvonne return to the station on non-operational duties while the inquiry takes it's course. Dan panics that his affair with Rochelle is about to become public, but reacts with dismay when she suggests they put their affair on hold. Gary feels that he is being patronised by Suzie. Manson confides in Suzie about his affair with Andrea. Steve clashes with Phil over his treatment of Kate.

Laura looks at Gabriel with new eyes when he takes a surprisingly compassionate approach to her wayward son Liam, who is being bullied because of her job. Okaro tries to mend fences with the rank-and-file officers by going out on the beat with June, but reacts badly at the scene of a traffic accident which brings back memories of his recent family tragedy. Sam jeopardises Jo's investigation by poaching her informant, leading to a bitter row. Gary's future on the force looks uncertain after he reacts to Suzie's constant needling with a very public outburst.

Laura discovers that the boy bullying her son Liam is dealing drugs at school. Sam continues to wind up Jo. Manson puts pressure on Gary to drop his accusations against Suzie. Sheelagh confronts Gabriel about their relationship. Jonathan Fox returns to Sun Hill.

Honey and Amber investigate a case of criminal damage at the flat of an escort. Zain searches for a 14-year-old girl who has been groomed over the internet by a 35-year-old man. Gabriel confesses to Sheelagh that he murdered the Sun Hill sniper.

Smithy attends a car-jacking incident and is attracted to the victim, Louise Larson, the wife of a local gangster. Amber and Honey are sent to catch a gang of cash machine skimmers. Phil discovers that Christine Weaver plans to migrate to Australia with their daughter. Sheelagh ignores June's advice to steer clear of Gabriel.

Roger and Dan break up a violent fight between two old friends, and have to deal with the consequences when one of the men is stabbed. Zain is investigating gangster Pete Larson, but little does he know that Smithy has been sleeping with Mrs Larson. Terry is called as a witness at his brother's trial. Phil is concerned that Christine Weaver plans to emigrate with their daughter Madison.

Okaro struggles to make headway with his road safety campaign. Terry's nephew testifies against his father. Smithy continues his relationship with Louise. Tony tries his hand at internet dating. Phil's mother lectures him about parental responsibility.

Gary is shot in the back during a raid on a gang suspected of handling stolen goods. Phil vows to catch the thug responsible for assaulting his pregnant ex-lover, and inadvertently proposes marriage. Gina returns to duty after cancer therapy but is unfit for work. Okaro hits another snag with his road safety initiative.

Gary survives the shooting, but discovers he may be paralysed. Reunited with his estranged mother, he decides to return to Manchester. Meadows and CID begin the search for the gunman, and are led to Okaro's old friend Isaac Collins. Smithy and Jonathan investigate Gina's absence and find her passed out in her bathroom. Tony hires an escort to accompany him to Honey's birthday party, but she turns out to be none other than a moonlighting Amber.

Photographs of Okaro smoking marijuana with Isaac Collins have been sent to the Met, and Okaro tenders his resignation. Okaro accepts the offer of a job as a security consultant and uses this a pretext to investigate Collins. Ch Supt Barratt arrives at Sun Hill to take control of the situation, but his first day goes from bad to worse when he catches his wife Rochelle with Dan. Amber exploits her new status as Tony's 'girlfriend' so he ends their relationship at a works party. Meadows challenges Manson over his relationship with Suzie and appears to catch them in a compromising situation.

Meadows is made Acting Superintendent and promotes Manson to Acting DCI, despite concerns over his conduct. Roger and Dan are on school patrol when a teacher is assaulted by a pupil, and Roger presses her to bring charges. Ramani is made acting DI, but is angry when she discovers that Terry is having an affair with his sister-in-law. Gabriel invites Sheelagh to dinner. Dan receives another poison pen letter but decides to continue seeing Rochelle. Meadows visits his son Benjamin and discovers cocaine in his flat.

Meadows arrests his son Benjamin for possession of cocaine. Benjamin's prints match those from a previous assault case. Ramani and Sam investigate the disappearance of a young nurse, and Peter Baxter is implicated. The internal inquiry into the death of Lee Chapman is concluded. Gabriel invites Sheelagh back to his house.

Peter Baxter is released on bail, but is brought back in when the burned body of the missing nurse is discovered. Sam identifies taxi driver David Russo as a possible suspect, but an unsuspecting Ramani is already trapped in his cab.

Sam and Zain arrive in time to save Ramani from taxi driver David Russo, but he is released on bail when his DNA fails to match that found next to the murdered nurse. Peter Baxter tries to make amends with former victim Ruth Cohen, who stabs him. June and Roger are called to an arson incident. The officers are separated, and June is assaulted and raped by 13-year-old Ross Trescot.

The relief are out looking for the 13-year-old who raped June, while Sheelagh interviews her. Trescot is found by Gabriel and arrested by Tony. At interview, he tells Suzie that he was also the victim of sexual abuse. Yvonne is called to give evidence at the inquest into the death of Lee Thomas. When Phil admits to fiance Kate that he is still married to Cindy, she kicks him out and finds comfort in the arms of his brother, Steve.

Roger and Dan find a missing schoolgirl in some woods. She has just given birth, but there is no sign of a baby. Phil recognises ex-informant Frank Mann, but Ho discovers that he is working on a drugs deal with a corrupt customs officer. Phil bids farewell to his daughter, Maddy, who is being taken to Australia by her mother. He makes up with fiance Kate, unaware that she has slept with his brother Steve. Yvonne faces formal manslaughter charges following the inquest into the death of Lee Thomas. After a drink with friends from the relief she is racially abused by a drunk and assaults him.

Supt Amanda Prosser arrives to take charge at Sun Hill. Phil and Jo continue their investigation of a corrupt customs officer. June returns to work and has to deal with a date-rape case. Honey and Tony destroy CCTV evidence of Yvonne's assault on a drunk. Zain discovers that Smithy is involved with the wife of criminal Pete Larson, and warns him off. Cindy Hunter agrees to divorce her estranged husband, but brother-in-law Steve then admits to her that he has slept with his brother's fiance.

Honey and Amber go undercover to investigate two date-rape incidents, and Amber almost ends up as a victim. Yvonne discovers that the drunk whom she assaulted has been called as a prosecution witness in her forthcoming trial. Zain introduces Smithy to an informant who had two fingers chopped off by Pete Larson. Smithy ends his affair with the villain's wife, Louise. Phil ends his engagement to Kate and beats up his brother for sleeping with her.

It's Laura's first day as a proper PC. Roger plays practical jokes on her but she gets her own back and makes her first arrest. Yvonne is on trail for the unlawful killing of Lee Thomas, and the man she assaulted testifies against her. Meadows finds out that his son is the mastermind behind a cocaine distribution operation. Sheelagh is called to investigate the theft of a charity collection. She suspects that the young girl being collected for does not have leukaemia but is being mistreated, and kidnaps the girl to protect her from her mother.

Tony uncovers a vital witness who can testify to the events leading up to the death of Lee Thomas. Sheelagh proves that young Ronnie does not have leukaemia, but is being abused by her mother. Meadows tries to build a case against his son Benjamin, but there is insufficient evidence to charge him. Yvonne is found not guilty of unlawful killing. A celebration after work gets out of hand and officers from Barton Street are called to deal. Gina throws a drink over the sergeant. Smithy tells a horrified Sheelagh that Gabriel raped Kerry.

Prosser reprimands Gina for her drunken behaviour the previous evening. She responds by preparing an anti-social behaviour initiative. Meadows proves that his son Benjamin is distributing cocaine. He confesses to all charges and agrees to provide information on his contacts. Amber has to tell a mother that her son has died but breaks the news to the wrong woman. Smithy regrets telling Sheelagh that Gabriel had raped Kerry and explains that he was mistaken. Sheelagh challenges Gabriel, who denies the allegation.

Meadows continues to investigate the fake passports business. Phil makes an arrest but the suspect refuses to implicate Pete Larson. Manson intervenes when his estranged wife Pippa is assaulted in court. Sheelagh brings her daughter Siobhan into the station for a day's work experience, and she spends the shift with Gabriel and Reg. She persuades Gabriel to forgive her mother, and the couple are reconciled. June is shocked to receive a visiting order for her 13-year-old rapist, Ross Trescot.

June visits 13-year-old rapist Ross Trescot. He tells her of his own sexual abuse at the hands of his uncle and begs her to drop the rape charges, but she refuses. Roger and Laura deal with the mugging of a Polish woman. Her flatmate Anka is also assaulted, but does not want to press charges as she is an illegal immigrant. Roger warns the attacker off. Jo and Suzie photograph Manson's father-in-law with a suspected pimp of under-age boys. Manson challenges wife Pippa over her involvement in her father's activities. Gina's initiative on anti-social behaviour proves a success, but Prosser takes the credit.

Manson clashes with his father-in-law, who is being blackmailed over an incriminating videotape of him having sex with an underage boy. Pearson tries to retrieve the tape and is stabbed by the blackmailer. Gina is furious with Prosser for taking the credit for her anti-social behaviour initiative, and starts drinking on duty. Phil and Sam investigate the disappearance of a young estate agent. Sam discovers the body in one of the company's apartments, then arranges a date with the dead man's boss.

Manson is assaulted by his wife, Pippa, who is distraught at her father's death. Ramani and Terry deal with a CSU case, but row over his relationship with his sister-in-law. Yvonne and Laura challenge Roger and Dan to see who can get the best arrests of the day. Gina approves of the results and takes them to the pub to celebrate before the shift ends. Prosser forces June to tell her about the outing.

Gina assists Dan and Reg in attending to an elderly man whose growing confusion makes him behave in an aggressive manner. He is later reported missing in possession of a loaded gun. Gina has snuck off to the pub and cannot be contacted. Prosser calls in SO19, but they storm the wrong house. Gina returns to duty and persuades the man to surrender his weapon. Barratt is furious and, looking for a scapegoat, Prosser tells him about Gina's absence and her drinking on duty. Gina is suspended from duty while her drink problem is assessed. Sam and Zain investigate a former associate of Pete Larson, and Zain goes undercover to buy a passport. Smithy is in bed with Mrs Larson when her husband returns home unexpectedly.

Jo is assigned as contact officer for a notorious child killer, Lesley Palmer, now released after 20 years in prison. Unfortunately, Palmer has told a former cell mate about her new identity. Police investigating an assault at a clip joint cannot get a witness to talk. Roger recognises Anka and persuades her to give a statement, but she is sacked for her trouble. Roger offers to let her stay at his house. She later offers herself to him and, when he rejects her, she decides to move out. Sheelagh deals with an assault victim who refuses to make a statement. Laura tells Sheelagh that the woman and Gabriel were lovers. Sheelagh confronts Gabriel, who proposes to her.

Roger agrees to investigate an assault on the boyfriend and business partner of his estranged wife Sandra, who seeks a divorce. The boyfriend proves uncooperative, and Roger soon establishes that he is a crook. Sheelagh finally agrees to marry Gabriel. June demands to know when he plans to tell his fiance his true identity. Smithy tracks down the suspended Gina who reveals that her cancer has been successfully treated.

Reg has organised an event to celebrate 50 years of Sun Hill police station. Former DCS Charles Barnet, who is to be a guest speaker, is keen to be taken out on patrol, and Tony and Dan take him out in the area car. The PCs are embarrassed by the old-fashioned attitudes of the former detective, who puts his back out while helping them with an arrest. Roger and Yvonne investigate a road traffic accident in which an eight-year-old boy has been killed by a joy-rider. Witnesses confirm that the boy had run in front of the car. Prosser tells the father, Jeff Clarke, that the driver will only be charged with minor offences, and he takes the news badly. Laura is surprised when a man calling himself Gabriel Kent calls in at the station and asks to see June. She mentions this to Gabriel, who dismisses the visitor as a local nutter. Gabriel goes to see his adopted brother, who quickly realises that David has stolen his identity. Meanwhile, Jeff Clarke turns up at the station and demands that his son's killer be prosecuted.

Several of the station's staff are taken hostage in the CID office by Jeff Clarke, who has a mental breakdown and fails to realise what he is doing. During the hostage situation, he accidentally shoots Dan, and Meadows brings in SO19 to bring him down. However, they accidentally shoot the real Gabriel Kent, who at the time, is confronting his brother. Prosser designs to hand back over control of the station to Okaro after the night's events.

Okaro asks Jo to look into a press photograph of notorious child killer Lesley Palmer. Palmer's old cell-mate has been staying with her and leaked information to the press for cash. Smithy and Laura compare notes on Gabriel, and speculate as to the identity of the man claiming to be the real Gabriel Kent, now fighting for his life in St Hugh's.

June identifies the comatose man in St Hugh's as her son, Gabriel Kent, and tells Smithy and Laura that the fake Gabriel is his adoptive brother, David, who stole his identity. Smithy persuades June not to tell Okaro, as she would be in trouble for keeping his secret. Sam and Jo track Lesley Palmer to Oxfordshire, where she has lured her ex-partner. She threatens to kill him unless he reveals the whereabouts of the body of the child that he killed 20 years before. Phil and Terry investigate a sudden death. They stumble across a low-rent pimp and gather evidence to convict him.

Terry assists Ramani in an investigation into a serious assault on his sister-in-law, Lucy. A camera found at the scene leads to the uncovering of an extortion scam run by a convicted paedophile who is threatening to harm the families of other prisoners. Sam and Zain investigate the theft of a lorry-load of designer sunglasses. Phil identifies the likely culprit, and investigations lead a woman who is selling stolen goods from a beauty salon. Cindy Hunter is furious when her salon is raided and blames her husband. Gabriel is feeling the pressure and tries to persuade fiance Sheelagh to leave Sun Hill. Laura tells a disbelieving Sheelagh the truth about David and his brother, Gabriel.

Gabriel arrives home to find fiance Sheelagh going through his belongings. He tries to put a positive spin on his deception but she is unconvinced and he ties her up. Laura and Tony track her down and bring her to safety. Smithy prompts Sam to establish the identity of the victim of the Sun Hill siege. June decides to pair with Gabriel, but when they are called to St Hugh's, Gabriel switches off his brother's life support and smothers him. Called to deal with a disturbance in a tower block, Gabriel drags June to the roof and threatens to kill her. Sam and Smithy lead a group of officers to their location. Smithy and Gabriel fight as June looks on.

Terry and Suzie investigate the trading of stolen car parts. Leela and Lance deal with an assault on a businessman by a group of schoolchildren. Ramani and Zain investigate a domestic violence case. Okaro asks the relief not to gossip about Gabriel. Leela teases Dan about his love life.

Leela and Lance discover a severely decomposed body, which may provide a vital lead in a murder case. Sam and Jo investigate. Honey and Tony are told of a missing Egyptian girl. Ramani and Zain investigate. Dan tells Amber that he is seeing a married woman. Jo goes undercover as a warder to investigate overdoses in a prison.

Jo continues her undercover operation as a prison officer to investigate a spate of drug overdoses. Yvonne investigates a shooting and discovers that her ex-boyfriend has hidden vital evidence. Dan's relationship with Rochelle is tested after the arrest of a young drug user.

Jo manages to identify the key players in a drug distribution network. Tony and Reg go into the prison as visitors to arrest the culprits. Sam investigates a shooting. Yvonne's ex-boyfriend suggests that they renew their relationship.

Reg and Tony arrest a man for tendering counterfeit money. Sam and Zain investigate. The suspect tells them that he witnessed gangster Pete Larson shoot a former associate. Smithy goes to Larson's house and is searching for the gun when Larson arrives home. Dan and Amber investigate CD piracy. Amber discovers Dan's affair with Rochelle.

Gangster Pete Larson discovers Smithy in his home and takes him at gunpoint to a disused warehouse. Zain informs Meadows about Smithy's affair with Louise Larson. Roger makes fun of Tony, who is becoming hard of hearing.

Meadows enlists the help of former colleague DC Mickey Webb in tracking down rapist Martin Delaney, who has escaped from prison. Ian goes back on the beat with Dan and they assist CID on an armed robbery case. Ian confronts Dan about his affair with wife Rochelle and advises him to leave Sun Hill. Phil accompanies Kate to the labour ward, but is late for an IVF appointment with Cindy.

Mickey assists Meadows and Ramani with their investigation into prison absconder Martin Delaney. Ian and Dan argue about Dan's affair with Rochelle. Confronted by an armed robber, Ian abandons Dan. Later, the two men fight in front of Rochelle, who is forced to choose between them. Kate gives birth to a son but Phil denies being the father. Meadows offers Mickey a job in Sun Hill CID.

The relief go after offenders who have failed to attend court. Jo and Phil investigate an armed robbery at an off-licence and are led to an illegal firearms manufacturer. Gina returns to Sun Hill. Sheelagh considers resigning. Phil tells Cindy about his baby with Kate, and she insists on a paternity test.

Barton Street's Sgt Haynes offers Roger a bribe to help a factory owner who employs illegal immigrants. June meets the real Gabriel at the coroner's hearing into the death of David, and is delighted when he acknowledges her as his mother. Sheelagh announces that she is transferring to the Child Protection Unit.

Mickey returns to Sun Hill full time. He is assigned to an attempted robbery case with Zain, who is suspicious of his relationship with Meadows. It is performance review time, and Gina and June go out on the beat with Amber and Honey to assess their performance. The relief is unhappy at a new twelve-hour rota.

Tony and Leela deal with a suspected mugger and refer the case to Ramani and Terry. Mickey and Zain investigate the case of a burning man thrown from a moving car and trace the victim to a crystal meth cook-house. Lance goes undercover at a local gay bar and finds that the crystal meth is being dealt there. Lance's boyfriend, Mark, plans to leave the Met. Terry has doubts about his relationship with sister-in-law Lucy.

Phil and Sam assist Manson on a murder case, and the evidence points to a gay serial killer. Lance and Laura investigate a spate of robberies targeting elderly and housebound victims. Mark thinks that he and Lance should separate. Phil receives the results of his paternity test.

Phil's enquiries into recent suspicious deaths lead MIT to conclude that there is a gay serial killer operating in Sun Hill. Lance and Laura deal with an assault, but the victim refuses to press charges. Lance struggles to deal with the break up of his relationship with Mark and revisits the gay bar, placing himself in grave danger. Phil struggles to deal with the news that he is Alfie's father.

MIT begin their investigation into Lance's murder. Manson and Mickey interview staff at the gay bar where he was last seen alive. Phil and Kate decide to register Alfie's birth, but a shocking revelation results in Kate deciding to move to Cardiff.

Manson and Morrell track down one of the two prime suspects in Lance's murder, whilst Mickey and Suzie are tasked with finding the second. Cindy receives some shocking news regarding her IVF treatment. Phil begins to panic when she relays the news to him.

Zain and Syzie investigate one of Lance's old cases. A witness to a mugging names the culprit, but both were previously questioned over an alleged rape. Okaro pairs with Laura to search a warehouse for drugs. Members of the relief attend Lance's funeral.

Probationary PC Will Fletcher gets lost on his way to start duty at Sun Hill and is reprimanded for his terrible time-keeping. Phil and Jo go undercover as a couple to investigate a series of robberies. Terry considers ending his affair with sister-in-law Lucy. Tony is reunited with estranged sister, Jacqui.

Gina sets up a mock game show to trap offenders who repeatedly fail to attend court. Amber, who has failed her probationary exams, almost blows the operation. Suzie and Mickey investigate the apparent theft of items from her parents' house.

Zain and Sam try to persuade a nervous witness to testify in court in a high profile drug case. Okaro arrests the trial judge for drink driving. Will and Honey deal with a stolen car scam operating from a valet car park. Tony decides to put his father into a residential home.

Terry investigates a case of alleged sexual assault by a female boss. Will and Honey try to reunite a homeless ex-soldier with his family. Terry's brother Ben is released from prison, but within hours of release, manages to upset his abused son. Meadows is shocked when his drug-dealing son, Benjamin, is given a harsh sentence. Tony plays a Christmas prank on Dan but it backfires on him.

Phil and Jo prepare a raid, but armed robbers steal the drugs first. Ramani helps Terry hunt for his missing nephew Bradley. Reg investigates the theft of a nativity display at the local church. Okaro struggles to cope with his first Christmas without his family. Ben finds out that his brother has been sleeping with his wife. Terry faces up to his feelings for Ramani.

Jo and Suzie investigate when a white man appears to have been assaulted by some Asians in a racially-motivated attack. Smithy and Leela deal with a domestic dispute when a man breaks down the door to his ex-wife's house, claiming that his she won't allow him to deliver Christmas presents to his children even though it's his access day. Gina tells Amber that she wants to see an improvement in her performance. Smithy rejects Louise Larson, then discovers that she is going into witness protection as she is to testify against her husband.

Smithy helps investigate when a young woman is attacked in her home by an intruder. Mickey covers for Suzie, who misplaces some evidence, and offers to help her revise for her sergeant's exams. Amber has another bad day, and argues with Gina. Smithy considers resigning to be with Louise Larson.
