DescriptionKing's Mead - Nuns' Street - geograph.org.uk - 582878.jpg
English: King's Mead - Nuns' Street All that remains of the Priory of King's Mead. The priory, dedicated to the Virgin Mary was named "Priorus de Pratis de Derby", but is better known as King's Mead. The remaining building appears likely to have been an outbuilding of some kind, rather than a part of the main priory buildings. After the dissolution the land passed through several hands, eventually becoming part of the Markeaton estate of the Mundy family. The land has subsequently been built over and after many years of serious dereliction the building was renovated and is now part of the University of Derby's student accommodation complex (visible in the background).
