Beam is a Berlin-based startup accelerator founded in 2017 that focuses on intra-logistics SaaS products. The company was founded by Christoph Beumer, the former CEO of BEUMER Group.[1][2]
Background
[edit]Beam was originally founded after the BEUMER Group saw a significant impact in its primary market of CD sortation equipment due to the increasing number of companies offering digital music. This shift caused consumers to move away from traditional CDs to companies like Spotify, causing a large decline in the market.[1]
Christoph Beumer recognized that, unless new innovations were supported within BEUMER Group, the company risked stepping into a similar situation in the future, which is why he founded Beam, a startup accelerator program in Berlin, Germany.[1]
Beam launches 3 companies per year where founders can receive up to 80% equity.[3]
He chose Robert Bach, one of the Co-founder of the company Coffee Circle,[1] which was founded in 2010,[4] to become Beam's Managing Director.
