Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vintage base ball. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. General external links about vintage base ball are ok. External links to specific teams are not ok. Such links should be listed on Wikipedia articles of said teams. Kingturtle (talk) 17:21, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On the photos of WPS

[edit]

Hello. I am writing/translating articles on WPS and WPS players in Japanese Wikipedia. At first I thank you for uploading lots of valuable photos.

I would like you to have all the photos upload on Wikimedia Commons so that all the wikipedians (including myself) can use the photos you offered in the articles of non-English Wikipedia. I would be so happy if you accepted my request. --Ohtani tanya (talk) 04:56, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello John. It's exactly my words. Could you help us to improve our wikis too? Thanks and regards. Mwaldeck (talk) 21:39, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some of them, I can move to Commons, because you put "public domain", but some you can change or stipulate the license. Thanks again and regards. Mwaldeck (talk) 21:45, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WPS Photos

[edit]

Keep up the great work. As I'm sure you've seen, I've been working with a number of the WPS player pages. If you could add pictures to all of them (I noticed Angela Hucles as a glaring omission), that would be awesome. I was thinking, since you took team photos it seems like, just crop them for the individual players and place them in. If you don't know how to do a good looking format or something along those lines, don't worry, I'll clean up the articles for you. Just want to make sure all the WPS players have proper pictures! File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Team_Athletcia2009.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:24, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki welcome & request to move Ozzie Smith pictures to Wikimedia Commons

[edit]

Hello, and on behalf of Wikipedia:WikiProject St. Louis Cardinals, let me begin by saying welcome to Wikipedia! I recently noticed the really great pictures of Ozzie Smith you have uploaded. I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally have a free-use picture from his playing days available...Thank you so much!! That said, I'd like to make a request similar to that Ohtani tanya. It would be really cool if you could upload or move these pictures to Wikimedia Commons. As it says on the english Eikipedia upload page, "Items uploaded to the Commons can be used on Wikipedia and elsewhere, helping to create a central repository of free images and multimedia. If you have a unified login, you can use it at Commons." Regardless, I can't express my gratitude enough that you would volunteer your unique and outstanding pictures so that other people can learn more about Ozzie Smith hopefully well into the future. Cheers, Monowi (talk) 04:56, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your email

[edit]

You claimed to have uploaded images to the commons that I deleted. Only administrators can delete images and all your commons images look fine to me. Your English Wikipedia images, i.e., images uploaded here, were tagged by me as missing copyright tags indicating that the copyright status was unknown and that is why they were deleted. The image logs, like this one, shows the exact history and proves I did not delete your images but shows the reason they were deleted. Upon reuploading, you did add a copyright tag and those images look fine now. In future please remember to provide all the information in the upload page but if you do get any deletion notices, follow the links and fix the problem and all will be well otherwise they too may be deleted and you don't really want that. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 05:26, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Al Trost 2008.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
