Unsigned comment reply

No trouble, I find myself forgetting to sign a fair ammount, too (you'll see me editing with reasons such as "sign, silly..." when I spot that and correct it :P). I have to admit, Wikipedia:Template messages (or rather, the redirect List of templates) is one of my most-visited articles! I never edit without it open, as templates are quite handy. You'll find on the talk page templates a link to Template:Unsigned. With almost all templates, the talk page details how to use it. In this case, you use {subst:unisigned|username|date}, just with an additional pair of { and } around the template. Subst converts the template into the code, speeding things up. There's also an unsigned2 template, which has the username and date the same way around as on the history, making it even easier to use! Happy Wiki editing! List of uncategorized composers

Hello:

Actually, there never was discussion (I was being bold!) But there was an old setup of the list of composers page; it included about ten incomplete lists according to style: Ragtime, jazz and blues, pop and rock, folk and country, religious, orchestra, vocal, new age, film, and maybe something else (check the page history). I started by only merging the ragtime list into List of ragtime composers and leaving a link to that page only, as a kind of test to see how people would react. No one seemed to object, so I did the same with the "Film composers" section (List of soundtrack composers). Pretty soon all ten sections were merged, it looked like what List of classical composers looks like right now. So I merged the uncategorized composers list into the main page and put all the other links at the bottom, most of which have since been deleted. I apologize if this was unorthodox editing style and if there was no discussion, but no one immediately raised objections or reverted the merge. Anyway, with a little work it wouldn't take much to categorize these people, that's my hope for the end result of this.

P.S. I categorized some composers while the list was still at the uncategorized composers page. Dafoeberezin3494 19:13, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RFC on Composers/Songwriters

I have added this RFC on the page Talk:List_of_composers_by_name. Although you have said that you wanted to keep out of this dispute, I would apprecite it if you would make your position clear so that people might understand what is being discussed.
