The Arizona Copper Mine Strike was a strike called in 1983 by union copper miners against the Phelps Dodge Corporation in Morenci, Ajo, Bisbee, and Douglas Arizona. The violent strike lasted over a year and only ended when the company hired replacement workers who voted to end union representation.
