Cécile McLorin Salvant is a French-American jazz vocalist.

Salvant was the winner of the first prize in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 2010.[3]

After completing high school, Salvant moved to France, where she studied classical voice and then began studying jazz with woodwind player Jean-François Bonnel.[4]

Salvant won four categories in the 2014 Down Beat Critics Poll: Jazz Album of the Year, Female Vocalist, Rising Star–Jazz Artist and Rising Star–Female Vocalist.[5] She was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014 for her album Womanchild.

Her second album, For One to Love, was released on September 5, 2015, to critical acclaim from the New York Times. The Guardian. and Los Angeles Times.[6][7][8]
