John Benton (born June 23, 1969) is an American curler. He started curling in 1975 and made his first US Junior National Championships in 1987. In 1998 he qualified for his first Olympic Trials where he was placed fifth. In 2009 he was successful in his third Olympic Trials, which earned the right to compete at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.[1].

He qualified as the lead for John Shuster's rink. His other teammates are Jason Smith and Jeff Isaacson. Chris Plys joined the team as alternate after the 2009 Olympic Trials.

In April of 2009 he participated in the Men's Curling World Championships. His team placed fifth with a 7 - 4 record.
