Valkyries (German: Walküre(n); Old Norse: Valkyrja) are minor female deities in Norse mythology that choose (kür) the most heroic of those who have died in battle and carry them off to Valhalla.

  • Valkyrie (Marvel Comics), a member of the Marvel Comics superhero group The Defenders (Avengers #83, 1970)
  • The VF-1 Valkyrie is the first mass-produced variable fighter in the anime science fiction series Macross (1982).
  • The Valkyrie Attack Ship is the class for several starships used by the Player in the Playstation game "Star Trek: Invasion"
  • Valkyr, a drug in the Max Payne computer game series
  • Valkyrie Airborne Assault Carrier: An armed VTOL transport used by the Imperial Navy in the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game. In the game background, the aircraft's role is the transportation of special forces infantry in much the same way as many helicopters are now around the world.
