french christmas

i am very interested why you deleted my page on french christmas... it is a religious holiday i celebrate very seriously... my page did not harm anyone nor did it contain anything vulgar.... everyone on the page was true— Preceding unsigned comment added by Joemuse (talkcontribs)

servo.hatred

I would like to know why this page was deleted and protected. I provided sources that prove that servo.hatred is a notable musician. If you need anything else to verify that, let me know. -Aquaspace —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquaspace (talkcontribs) 15:27, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so The Dose Magazine (yes, a professionally-written, non-blog, non-fanpage, English language magazine) should have all the information needed. The only problem is that The Dose Mag is available for free and online, but only by PDF download. Is it possible to use that as a source somehow? The link to The Dose's website is http://thedose.info/ The magazine that servo.hatred is featured in is issue #1 (with the green and purple foam-rubber hair extensions on the front, that's DJ Sisen) and the page that his interview is on is page number 89.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquaspace (talkcontribs)

Alright, well thanks for your help, I'll see if I can dig something else up.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquaspace (talkcontribs)

Would any of these help? They might not be long enough, but it's the best I've come up with so far.

As well, it's probably safe to say that servo.hatred is the most prominent Dark Electro act in Hungary. However, I'm not really sure how to prove this... (Aquaspace 17:36, 18 October 2007 (UTC))-Aquaspace[reply]

User Page Abuse

Directly from WP's policy page User_pages: "You are welcome to include a link to your personal home page, although you should not surround it with any promotional language." Which I did. And it was deleted. Thanks WP. I'm gone for good. You either lie about the policies, or wield the sword in disregard of the policies. One or the other. Alliedhealth 17:50, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stealth Trading

I am glad you are taking such an interest in the idea of stealth trading. You think that stealth trading is covered in detail within Insider Trading. IT IS NOT! I read the piece of insider trading and it is very different (through related) from stealth trading. I should know because I have published research articles in both insider trading and stealth trading in some of the top finance journals in the world. So I hope you read the piece on stealth trading more carefully before making such quick judgments. Thanks. Sugato

Restore article Stealth Trading

I think you are misunderstanding the concept. Let me try again. What I wrote here is my own writing synthesized from the research I and others have conducted over many years. So it is deserving of being here just like insider trading is. I am sorry that you felt my writing was like an advertising blurb. I wrote it like that because I wanted people to understand the concept. So I refrained from technical jargon. Also, if you read the piece carefully, you would see that I defined stealth trading when I said:

"In the early nineties, two economists published a paper that demonstrated how a trader with valuable private information might fragment her trades into intermediate size chunks – not too large to reveal herself as informed and not too small to make it prohibitively expensive to trade. And if the market is aware that some traders are likely to do this, then trades of this intermediate size class will be treated differently (relative to small and large size trades) and will be accompanied by larger price impact than these other trade sizes. The important intuition here is to understand that not all medium size trades will be from informed traders. Just as long as enough informed trades are fragmented into medium size trades, the idea will work just fine and medium size trades will display abnormal price impact relative to their overall trading frequency and volume compared to large or small size trades."

As to what I meant by "Insiders may use stealth trading as a means to execute their trades but insider trading does not have to be done through stealth trading or trade fragmentation," let me try again. Some informed traders may use stealth trading as a way to hide their trading but not all insiders use stealth trading. so, insider trading can sometimes manifest itself in stealth trading but not all stealth trading is insider trading. In sum, insider trading is when some trader uses information he is not supposed to have and trades stock in order to make personal profit. Stealth trading is when a trader with information (legal or illegaly obtained) uses strategic trade fragmentation in order to try and hide his trading and the information behind the trade. Once again, insider trading and stealth trading are distinct concepts and deserve to be separately listed. I will be happy to make the article more formal if that will satisfy you but having published in both areas I think I know what I am talking about. Thanks. Sugato

Bush redirect

Someone created George Walker Bush as a redirect to where our article actually is, at George W. Bush, but you deleted it. Unawarew of this history, I noticed that George Walker Bush was a red link, and again made it a redirect, and you again deleted it. Why? Some people would expect the article to be at the person's full legal name. To accommodate those readers, we have George Herbert Walker Bush as a redirect to George H. W. Bush. I don't see why the son shouldn't be treated the same way. JamesMLane t c 08:51, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your explanation. I was pruning my watchlist and found "George Walker Bush" as a red link. I must have watchlisted the lookalike version at some point and then completely forgotten the episode. That's what I get for editing without getting a full night's sleep! I contributed to this page today and am wondering 1) why you think there is a conflict of interest and 2) what part or parts do you claim are propaganda.

Please advise so i can further clean this up. I want to to continue to contribute to Wikipedia, but every once in while I come across a user who has a difference in opinion and aserts themselves on my content. Many thanks! Chomperhead 00:26, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will look at the page again later... and then tell you on Talk:Xirrus so that others can also see my comments. But my initial searches show that we can write an article on the company in a non-spammy way so I removed the speedy delete template. Resurgent insurgent 00:30, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great! Really appreciate it as it will help me make better article/contribs as I move forward. I don't see it as being spammy as they are facts like I wrote in journalism school, so a 3rd party eye would be great. Take care. Chomperhead 00:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of ActiveFocus and request to revise decision.

I would like to understand the reasoning of your decision to remove the ActiveFocus entry I posted. I reviewed other Similar software apps such as AceProject, AtTask, Basecamp_(software), ActiveCollab, Central_Desktop, ProjectInsight and many others and tried to model it after their entry. You mentioned 3rd party sources not listed, but not all these other entries have that, yet are still able to maintain their entries. I do not understand what you wish me to edit in order for you to accept it as an entry. Please let me know your reasons so I can rectify this, as I do not wish to waste my time editing documents without understanding the exact reasons for deletion.

Thank you.

Request REVERSAL of Activefocus Deletion

You just deleted a info post on Activefocus. This was a simple post that I don't believe was formated as a promotional post. It had some notability in it, and from what I have seem it looked like it should conform to your guidelines. I am wondering if you have an interest in other companies in a similar field? Are you receiving compensation or something to keep info about certain companies?

Please be ethical.

Let's see... what you wrote this time was (excluding the infobox and formatting/wikilink code)...

ActiveFocus is a project management software, developed by Falafel Software, based in San Jose, CA. Developed in ASP.net 2.0, ActiveFocus is a scalable Web 2.0 project productivity management software tailored for small to enterprise level projects.

ActiveFocus is notably different from other project management software as it is was not produced strictly for software companies, but can be customized for any industry vertical.

...Which is exactly a basic advertisement. If you have not read WP:SOFTWARE, please do read it. If you have read it, read it again. Around here, notability is demonstrated only when references to third-party write-ups are given in the article itself. No third-party references, no article. Period. End of story.
And for the record - no, I am not being paid by, or affiliated to, or have commercial/stock interests in any corporation. Resurgent insurgent 05:04, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the wording seemed basic and informational. You are making a personally biased decision that it is an "ad" in my opinion.

If there was a 3rd party link(s)/writeup(s) such as http://telerikwatch.com/2007/07/radcontrols-in-real-world-activefocus.html from a notable and reputable company like Telerik would that make the difference in your opinion of it as an ad, versus an informational entry? Please advise.

A single write-up like that would still fall short of WP:CORP requirements. A neutral entry should have unfavourable criticism of the product and/or company as well. It must contain all significant points of view. Resurgent insurgent 06:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have found some additional 3rd party documentation on ActiveFocus, such as a TechEd writeup from Microsoft, plus some info on how it integrates with the new IPhone (THAT page looks like an advertisement...). I think this should successfully qualify for it being upheld as a notable entry. I have noticed that you BLOCKED recreation of the page (which was quite unnecessary)and ask you to UNBLOCK it so I can make the proper changes. Thank you.

So you seem to think the references I added to the page came up "pitifully" short for reference material. While I agree that there is not a whole lot of documentation there, I must impress that activefocus is NEW, and as such will not instantly have 100 write ups about it. I thought the whole point of wikipedia was to share information, add new info, etc... I revised the entry down to 3 sentences as to make it NOT a promotional sounding entry. I have no problem adding unfavorable criticism, but I don't think there is anything written up that is unfavorable at this point, and I am not going to make things up that reflect negatively just to satisfy you personally. Anyone whom wants to add their opinion, positive or not, is free to do so, but that can not be done if you continually remove the entry. Bottom line, this is a new project management software that is created using the latest web based technologies, enabling it to be integrated with mobile technologies such as the IPhone. That alone makes it stand out from other entries in the same category, and should be noteworthy. I am not trying to be difficult, I just feel that for some reason or other you have personally singled me out, and I am trying to understand realistically if I am doing something wrong, or if you just enjoy wielding admin power and removing things.— Preceding unsigned comment added by NachoCheez (talkcontribs)

I am not power-crazy, just trying to tell you that a product must be notable before an article can be written on it. Wikipedia is not the place to publicize new products. There's newspapers, the radio and the rest of the media for that. Lastly, please type ~~~~ after each of your future posts - it helps me keep track of your replies. A couple of issues:

1) Is it possible to turn off access to my "E-mail this user" button for individual users, and if so, has this already been done? This guy has, so far, sent me 60 e-mails with the subject line "F*ck You, ***hole", with a couple of dozen others with diferent but equally truculent subject lines and it's becoming rather annoying.

2) Would you mind deleting his addition to his talk page? It's the text of the "article" he was edit-warring to include and which he also pasted onto a variety of user pages.

Thanks. —Calton | Talk 04:36, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Making your first CD some time in future is not the same as having made one. Until the group has made at least two of these, they aren't notable per WP:MUSIC. In addition, their future official CD is self-released, not by a major record label, which brings them even further away from the notability criteria. Resurgent insurgent 00:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok, i understand, but why is it i see about 10 bands from the same city as Into the Breech who have way less information on their wiki page and are not signed and also have no cds or have a demo and a future cd like Into the Breech and are also self-released but their wiki's are not deleted?

I have a bit of concern about this action...can you show the diffs for which you blocked? Please remember that the 3RR has an exception for vandalism, and the diffs I looked at were reversions to clear vandalism. An admin has some leeway when evaluating 3RR situations, and is not necessarily required to block. It would have been nice if you had contacted him before blocking and discussed things for a bit. I think it's a shame when someone works for months to bring an article to FA status, endures repeated reviews and detailed critiques, continues working diligently, and on the day it makes TFA, he's not even allowed to exercise vigilence to keep the thing from being vandalized? If this is the case, somethings wrong with the system. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 19:50, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree that the reverts were undoing vandalism. The diffs are mentioned here, but after introspection I still do not think it was harsh. Resurgent insurgent 00:13, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1) Please show to me where it says a non-admin cannot semi-protect a page. (I checked Wikipedia:Protection policy and all it said was that admins could protect pages but did not say only admins can.

2) However, if only admins can protect a page and u r an admin, then I kindly request the page to be protected, since u seem to be hanging around that article. The reason being is:

that some users don't know how to add information. A lot of unverified and uncyclopedic material has been added in (due to the fact that Heraclius' reign sees the rise of Islam) and the details about Heraclius' war with Persia and the return of the True Cross was deleted, no doubt in a prejudice manner (see the history page and the summaries with it).

With reference to the POV you rightly provided on The Russian Business Network article. I have hopefully provided edits to improve, however any advice or suggestions you may make would be welcome. Also any further suggestions to make the article wikified.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jart351 (talkcontribs)

I am of limited help... because for starters, I'm not sure just what the Russian Business Network is. Resurgent insurgent 12:17, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article "Shea hall"

I see no reason why the article "Shea hall" was deleted. The information presented was factual and the cited magazine article was factual as well. By the Wikipedia guidelines, this pages does not fall under the deletion category of "patent nonsense."

Thank you.

Nowhere else on the Internet mentions an up-and-coming artiste of that name from Roseville, CA. [1] Which makes your "factual" claim very unconvincing. Resurgent insurgent 06:20, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I spent some time looking over policy and getting into Wikipedia when I noticed this particular policy. Why is it in place when there's already WP:BLOCK? I can't see a difference. Kaktibhar 05:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's the point of a ban, when you revert positive contributions from a banned user, and the blocking policy pretty much almost means the same thing? I mean, nobody is willing to unblock a vandal-only account. Does that mean that the user is banned entirely from editing the encyclopedia? It says that banned users aren't allowed to edit the encyclopedia, but the same holds true for anybody who's blocked. More serious cases would involve sock puppetry, or gross incivility, or single-purpose accounts that show that the user has no productive intention, right?
I reviewed the list of banned users as well. Sure, there are plenty of guys who deserve to be up there, after viewing the reasons for banning and the sockpuppets, like Molag Bal, Connell66, Bobabobabo, or JB196. But often I'd find users, like Qst or Nasz, who have made several acceptable contributions to the encyclopedia. In fact, the community doesn't seem to take into consideration good contributions when they ban a user from the project. Why is Qst permanently banned when he was in fact a good user at one point? Would the community be willing to give him a second chance? Kaktibhar 06:47, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind. Thanks for your help. Kaktibhar 07:27, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for restoring the correct version of the page at Rhianna. When I restored all the revisions that I possibly could, before the deletion process, I didn't take into account that this was a wildly altered version. Bobo. 11:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Convert/LoffAoffD/SoffImp

Hi. You recently deleted the page Convert/LoffAoffD/SoffImp per WP:CSD#G7, but the author had also nominated a second page, Convert/LoffAoffDsSoffImp for deletion on the same AfD. That one should be deleted as well. Thanks. —gorgan_almighty 14:28, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tyree Cooper

Why delete the page? Search for Tyree on google and lodes of results show. Its a real person, its not like I just made it up. I was in the process of getting some images together then you deleted the page you douche. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatcud (talkcontribs) 17:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit confused about why you deleted Image:Buffy the Vampire Slayer Sunnydale Lobby.jpg. The user who tagged this article seems to be a bit confused about fair use - he seems to believe that fair use is not allowed if the copyright owner asserts the copyright status of the image. Weird, I know. --- RockMFR 04:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There must be independent, reliable sources shown in the article to assert notability of the organisation, even though it is non-profit. None were present in the article. Resurgent insurgent (as admin) 16:03, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your work. You only did half of the work though, Industrial Estates in Malta was not updated. I'll do it. 「ѕʀʟ·15:25, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
