The University of Kalayni was established on November 1,1960. With 400 acres of campus it has got a three star accrediation from 'NAAC'. This university is providing academic guidance and leadership to 37 affiliated colleges (16 in Nadia, 20 in Murshidabad and 1 in North 24 Parganas). There are 217 teachers assisting 2,000 post graduate and PhD students. It has facultries of 1.Science 2.Arts and Commerce 3.Education 4.Engg. Tech and Management 5. Law 6. Music and Fine arts. The total number of academic departments is 25. Prof (Dr.) Arabinda Das is the Vice Chancellor of this University.
