Windsor high School is a secondary school located in Halesowen, in England.

The School

The school is a fairly average sized high school, very close to the centre of Halesowen. The school supports about 1300 pupils from the age of 11 to 16. It was a very highly rated school with much to offer for its pupils. It is a specialist sports collage which means that it receives money to invest in new sporting facilities. Recent additions to the school include a 'state of the art' science block and a new, two storey music block. The ICT suites aren't all that marvellous because the computers have been freequently reported to have brocked down and there have been repeated cases of work being lost. This is a major problem because work is always having to be redone. The English department is home to the most influential teachers to teach in the school and following a recent survey, 95% of the students in the school said that English was the best lesson of the week.

The Head Teacher of this school is called Mr.Sorell. All though he doesnt spend all that much time at the school, he spends most of his time playing computer games, I'm sure he tries his best. Since the departure of ex-head teacher Mr Newton (when the school got its reputation of one of the best high schools around) the school has fallen down a slippery slope of drug adicted students and violent behaviour. Also, since the departure of the site manager Mr.Wheldon, the school has become unkempt, knee-deep in litter and due to no one else knowing how to mark the fields for running tracks, football pitches etc, these facilitys have also declined considerably in standard which isnt best due to its recent title of 'specialist sports college' in early 2000's. The headteacher has recently started working on a new proect which should open up a whole new range of specialist courses. This will alow older people to be able to take extra courses at the school. If this project is succesful then a 6th form will be started up and the standards should increase again. This should improve the range of trips and activities available to the students. These trips should also benefit from a decline in price because they are currently far too expensive for the pupils to pay for. If the prices do not improve then I'm sure that a lot of students will consider going to another school. Mr Lancolm seems to consider the school as a game as he frequently tells the Y10s and Y11's that it is a race. This needs to change because if too many students start to think that school is a race then they will be enticed to cheat to get ahead. This would be most unfortunate because the schools standards will begin to slip again. Mr Lancolm needs to be warned about this because many pupils have already started to take it to seriously. Some pupils have been known to stay up through the night studying to get ahead in the 'race' only to fall asleep in lessons and fall behind. This studying has led to some very serious issues, with some students now loosing the ability to comunicate socialy. This is very concerning and should be looked into by the headmaster who's right it is to make the decisions about his staff.
