"Telepathy" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera for soundtrack album, The Get Down. It features the collaboration of American guitarist Nile Rodgers. The song was written by Sia Furler, Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen, while produced by StarGate. The track was released by RCA Records on August 12, 2016. The song was characterized as a funky disco that incorporates elements of guitar riffs. The lyrics are about the synergy of a good relationship. "Telepathy" received mostly positive reviews from music critics.

The song was played in a scene from episode six of The Get Down, in which Jaden Smith’s character, Marcus “Dizzee” Kiplin, is at a LGBT dance party. Sexual tension rises and his female friend kisses him on the dance floor. Then, as the music swirls, his friend Thor (Noah Le Gros) declares “my turn, and goes in for a smooch.[3]

Critical reception

Bradley Stern from PopCrush said "Naturally, [Christina’s] mighty voice carries throughout the uplifting anthem, filled out by vibrant strings and horns."[4] Robbie Daw writing for Idolator complimented "Xtina sings beautifully amidst a swirling wall of sound that never lets up on the euphoric “Telepathy.”[5] Daily Mail's Sameer Suri positively viewed the track's as "Aguilera bringing her breathtaking blend of growling and belting to a disco anthem".[6] Danny Schwartz from HotNewHipHop write "Telepathy" is very much in that disco mode. easy to listen to, easy to dance to, a disco ball, shimmering, illuminating a room of lovers & friends who came here to forget about their troubles. Disco lives!!"[7]
