The Royal Regiment of Artillery, generally known as the Royal Artillery (RA), is an Arm of the British Army. Despite its name, it is made up of a number of regiments. Each Royal Artillery regiment is made up of a number of Batteries.

  • 12 (Minden) Battery – To re-role as Very High Readiness LML HVM Battery

  • 30 Battery (Rogers's Company) – Rapier Battery
  • 32 (Minden) Battery – Rapier Battery
  • 49 (Inkerman) Battery - previously under 40 RA, now equipped with Land Environment Air Picture Provision (LEAPP) to support Division and Brigade HQs. The Battery is commanded by an RAF Squadron Leader and has some RAF personnel however the unit is predominantly RA manned.[5][6]

  • 13 (Martinique 1809) Battery – Headquarters Battery
  • 28/143 (Tombs's Troop) Battery – AS-90 Battery
  • 127 (Dragon) Battery – AS-90 Battery
  • 38 Battery – Tac Group
  • 176 (Abu Klea) Battery – Equipped with MLRS [7]


26th Regiment Royal Artillery

  • 16 Battery (Sandham's Company) – AS-90 Battery
  • 17 (Corunna) Battery – AS-90 Battery
  • 55 (The Residency) Battery – HQ Battery
  • 132 Battery (The Bengal Rocket Troop) – Equipped with MLRS and based in Albermarle Barracks [8][9]
  • 159 (Colenso) Battery – re-roles from light gun to AS-90 Battery
  • 19 (Gibraltar) Battery – Tac Gp Battery

  • 7 (Sphinx) Commando Battery – slated to lose its guns, become a TAC Gp[10]

47th Regiment Royal Artillery

  • 10 (Assaye) Battery – UAS Battery for Reaction Force Brigade and Divisional Assets
  • 43 (Lloyd's Company) Battery – coming out of Suspended Animation, UAS Battery for Reaction Force Brigade and Divisional Assets
  • 74 Battery (The Battle Axe Company) - formerly UAS Support Battery, moving under 47 RA to be Watchkeeper battery, UAS Battery for Reaction Force Brigade and Divisional Assets[13][14][15]
