The theory about why this works may be understood at the current point in time (Due to what is written on the Oak Ridge web site), and needs an expert to review.
I don't think it's understood yet. One of my team members works directly with the theory group at ORNL. They have some theories, and have been testing them and publishing papers, but colossal magnetoresistance still isn't a completely understood phenomenon. SeanAhern 01:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
The main features of CMR are understood within the double exchange mechanism, plus the phase separation phenomenon. The latter is not completely understood yet, at least in a quantitative way. But it's quite incorrect to say that "no physical theories" explain this phenomenon. --130.251.188.1 13:53, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
