Kasperle ia a famous and traditional puppet character from Austria and Germany. Its roots date to 17th century and was at times so popular that Kasperltheater was synonymous with puppet theatre. Kasperltheatre is a play in which the chacters are a crocodile, kasper, a lady, an old man, etc etc. The older, more traditional Kasperle Shows are very similar to "Mr. Punch".
