I like to keep conversations in one place, so I'll reply wherever a conversation is started. I use talkback templates. Please tell me if you prefer not to receive talkback notices. Otherwise, I'll utilize them.
I'm fine with talkback templates, as they help remind me if I've initiated a conversation on your talk page.

Not aware if anyone reads userpages (it seems to me that they get vandalised more than they get read), but your user page says that you "fight vandalism and wiki-gnome". I know what you mean, but someone who doesn't know what a wiki-gnome is could easily assume that you fight both vandalism, and Wiki-gnomes. . Just pointing out the ambiguity. Brambleclawx23:23, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good point :), although I believe it would then be fight vandalism and wiki-gnomes. Hope the link is sufficient... I like reading userpages sometimes as well. Airplaneman ✈23:25, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Haha! It's almost disconcerting :). Didn't know of a disease named Watchlistitis before :D. I check my watchlist (my most visited page... ever...) about every 10-15 minutes. Airplaneman ✈23:34, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Heh... :) can't seem to find something I want to keep for the long term... guess it grows old rather quickly. One day, I'll find something I really like! (I like the current one the best, of course.) BTW, after reading it, I show some symptoms of watchlistitis. Uh-oh... Airplaneman ✈23:47, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am here to inform you that your userpage or talk page has been conquered by the Earth Cabal. Please don’t panic; there is nothing you can do about it. You are hereby invited to join the Cabal, and help conquer other pages for our cause. See User:Hi878/Earth Cabal for more information. Thank you, have a nice, irregular weather day, and welcome to Earth.

Ahrgh! I've been conquered! On second thought... hmm... yes, weather has been irregular around here lately. Thanks for the invite; I'm pondering joining :). Airplaneman ✈04:44, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've just decided to add you to the list, if you decide against joining, just remove your name, I suppose... Hi878 (talk) 03:52, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How on WP did you end up here and in particular here and here? Presumeably you follow some sort of anti-vandal watchlist that has escaped my attention or perhaps just browse Recent Changes at random? Or you are actually a god? --Jubilee♫clipman22:12, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would love to be a god, but sadly, I'm just a human being :). Yes, it was pure luck! I was doing some intense Igloo-ing and ran into vandals on King's Manor School. Igloo failed right before I pressed the "revert" button, so I used good old Twikle. For all three, a vandal called 86.183.98.242 wasspamming, so I froze him with my Igloo powers. So one vandal, three reverts, and a whole lot of luck brought me close to your (old) home :). Airplaneman ✈22:18, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! Never heard of Igloo till now: another one to look into then. Thanks for that, Airplanedemigod! I'll have a look at the proposed rename and get back to you (probably over there) --Jubilee♫clipman22:23, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa... after looking again, it looks like I compared a set of diffs that showed bad edits. In fact, I reverted to undo this removal of references. Your (good) edits were caught in the middle. Sorry! I usually compare diffs in many different combos... not sure how I missed that. I'll undo myself and remove the unhelpful reference removal manually. I hope you accept my apology. Regards, Airplaneman ✈20:47, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have now manually undone the bad edits I tried removing in the first place, while keeping your edits intact. I hope you're not upset - I didn't mean to remove your positive contributions (in fact, they helped a lot)! Happy editing, Airplaneman ✈21:01, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Airplaneman! moɳo has given you a bit of sunshine to brighten your day! Sunshine promotes WikiLove and hopefully it has made your day better. Spread the sunshine by adding {{subst:User:Meaghan/Sunshine}} to someone else's talk page, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. In addition, you can spread the sunshine to anyone who visits your userpage and/or talk page by adding {{User:Meaghan/Sunshine icon}}. Happy editing! moɳo03:50, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have never been involved in reviews so I am now confused... Why are all the reviews already archived? I.e. you actually start a review as Name/archiveN rather than end it by archiving! Seems totally screwy to me. Any clarification? --Jubilee♫clipman00:36, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have not the slightest clue
I've wondered that too
I looked it up
With no apparent luck
Anyway... maybe so it doesn't have to be moved into an archive later? Maybe you could ask HereToHelp or another experienced FA reviewer (I'm more experienced with GAs) Airplaneman ✈01:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Really, I have nothing to contribute to the actual discussion, except that it maybe saves time? That way you don't have to move it from the original page or have the original review deleted and archived, etc. That make sense? (Oh, and yes, I know my rhyme is terrible!) PrincessofLlyrroyal court02:10, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi.
Re Talk:The Lightning Thief, you archived all the old sections, saying,
"bot doesn't seem to be working (scheduled for 3 months, an 11 month post with an answer is still here, archive everything".
For future reference, the bot was working, but by default it leaves the last 5 sections even if they're old enough to be archived, and doesn't archive less than 2 sections. So those 6 sections would have remained until at least 1 more new section was added. The defaults can be changed; see User:MiszaBot/config for details.

The table at Macintosh#Product line has a box of text in the middle of servers that I don't like. I think it would look better if the Mac mini box and Xserve box met halfway in the middle. This means making them three columns wide, and everything else 2 columns wide, but I can't figure out how to make it work. Can you? HereToHelp(talk to me)23:12, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How often does assessment data update? For example, at WP:DERM:A, the table has not been updated since January 2010? Also, I want to provide various statistics at WP:DERM so people can analyze the project's growth and development. Currently we have a small section providing links to various data, but I wanted to know if you would help us expand that section to provide more types of interesting data that people can use? Any help creating regularly and automatically generated types of project data would be great. Regardless, thank you for your work on Wikipedia. ---kilbad (talk) 16:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nice to meet you, kilbad :). The assessment table is still being updated, but from somewhere else. This edit in January points out the change: when WP 1.0 Bot underwent a code rewrite, updates were moved off-wiki. That's why the template isn't updated anymore. Updates now occur here, which is then transcluded onto the project table. As seen here, the bot copies assessment tables to the wiki from the toolserver (I think - in any case, it's off-wiki). I guess it's faster or less resource-intensive.
As for some interesting data... I'm not sure what to do - a lot of stuff I usually see on a statistics page is there already, such as an assessment link, new pages, page views, and image info. I suggest adding a Dermatology watchlist for dermatology-related changes. That might be interesting :). What ideas of interesting things do you have in mind? Airplaneman ✈21:19, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So will the table at WP:DERM:A now update regularly and automatically? Also, with regard to a dermatology watch list, would it be possible to create a watchlist of all the articles tagged as part of the dermatology task force? Thanks again for your help! ---kilbad (talk) 02:24, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The table has been automatically updating since the switch: the transcluded template is updated, not the table itself. That's why there haven't been any changes since January. I'm thinking that the dermatology watchlist watches all articles that are related to dermatology... I'm not sure how it's sorted. I also am not sure how to create a watchlist for all articles tagged as part of the task force - that may very well be what the special watchlist is, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll look into it tomorrow (it's getting late here...). Airplaneman ✈02:30, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Yeah, I think a watchlist for all the pages tagged within the dermatology task force would be great. Also, is it possible to generate graphs in Wikipedia? ---kilbad (talk) 00:07, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, it must be done externally with a program/code of some sort or manually off-Wiki. I'm not sure it there's a tool on-Wiki for that (not sure it's built in the MediaWiki software that is used for Wikipedia). Although I know a bit about technical stuff, I think it's best you ask (and refer to this thread) on the technical village pump, where people who know more about these topics than me can help answer your questions :). Airplaneman ✈00:28, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Airplaneman, sorry if I'm bothering you. I would like to ask a question regarding your post. Do the tools called TWINKLE and FRIENDLY work with the Vector skin? I am a violinist (talk) 11:16, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Yes: they are just in a different place. They appear under arrows, Twinkle has its own arrow (TW v ), Friendly is added to the other arrow along with "Move". They used to have tabs of their own for every function (e.g. a tab for "Warn" a tab for "Welcome", a tab for "TB", a tab for "XfD", a tab for...) It is much cleaner this way, IMO --Jubilee♫clipman14:22, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Airplaneman:
Thanks for your help in interview section of my Talk page from about a month ago. I am still working on my class paper on Wikipedia and collaboration, and I was wondering if you could offer up a few comments about your work on PJTF. I deeply respect the work and commitment of the PJTF members and am inspired by you all to want to continue to patrol/add useful material to the pages. I am curious to know more about your own experience with PJTF: I'm sure that you've seen all the ups and downs of editing the PJ articles as a longstanding member of PJTF. I would like to ask if you could point out to me some of the highlights/lows/conflicts in PJTF or any other reasons why you continue to stay on guard, even when there are so many vandals out there (I can only imagine the frustration!) Can you help me out with even a few comments or remarks on your contributions to PJTF, and also how you've seen PJTF change or develop? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I did mention that FC's email was probably not disparaging (of little worth), as email bombs are (I've never got any and hope I never will). We've lost a dedicated editor, which is a net negative for the encyclopedia. Oh well. Airplaneman ✈02:33, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it took me a few minutes to wrap my head around it, but it looked okay. Maybe you should post examples? Oh, and I liked the navbox at the bottom - did you make it? Particularly the link to Antidisestablishmentarianism, which is one of my favorite long words, next to transubstantiation, which most people also don't know. PrincessofLlyrroyal court02:58, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much made all those template apart from the infobox as they are a nightmare to make... Probably needs more work. The infinite loop is intended BTW, before anyone asks --Jubilee♫clipman03:04, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, at first I thought, "Oh, that should be fixed..." and then, "Duh!". So, I'm wondering if this is legal (WP-legal, not RL-legal. I know the answer in RL.): [1]. Because I'll probably use it the next time I run into a persistent vandal. PrincessofLlyrroyal court03:07, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, saw who discussing what? Mono and BCx discussed it on my talk, but they were discussing the legality, not the tool. I don't know...but I don't think WP:Stalking applies to vandals. I think the Aviator smiled at your essay. PrincessofLlyrroyal court03:18, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's funny how many articles we overlap each other on! I think you were supposed to smile. It just confused him because I had posted too, so you could have been commenting on my link. That's my take on it. PrincessofLlyrroyal court03:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe CU's need some form of official identification for age verification. Also, it's never a bad thing to tell the truth. Just don't reveal too much, but don't lie. Airplaneman ✈22:42, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I saw. I was also targeting a GAN some time this summer - it's great that you picked it up earlier! I'll help in June - busy at the moment. Oh, and I also replaced the old sign button with the new one on your welcome template, since newcomers likely are using default skin. Feel free to revert it if you wish. Brambleclawx19:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK; I have found that most users such as the one in question (who has made one edit) are usually just a hit and run. If the vandalize again, I'll be compelled to skip to a level two or three warning. Warning them now might provoke them, which I find unnecessary given the fact that they have made one edit that is not severe (i.e., a BLP violation). Airplaneman ✈00:48, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Warning is supposed to deter them, but who knows. And it's worse to want to block anyone other than blatant, single purpose vandals. Like me FREAKIN SPAMMIN UR TALKPAGEOMGNOWAI. My bad, —fetch·comms01:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
